How it worked at Microplay was that there was a suggested price in the computer for each game, but I could higher or lower it depending on my own judgement, and what condition the disc was in, and if there was boxart, a manual, etc.
As a general rule, rpg's and brand new shooter games were about the only games that were worth anything. Even brand new sports games are worth almost nothing. Why? Because they don't sell. Half of the used games we had were sports games that just sit on the shelf, that lost the company money. If they pay you 10$ for a football game, that's 10$ the store just threw away.
