Wow.  Just looks like another way for Nintendo to confuse consumers.

ConanTheStoner

That's my concern as well. I can understand them wanting to tell parents "Hey, this does not use 3D, so you do not have to worry about your kid's eyes, or them getting sick as a result," but on other hand, I can see this now causing a lot of potential confusion in the marketplace with parents. I mean, look at all the confusion the Wii U name has caused. I could see similar problems here. Parents who may not understand this is not a new system, and parents who will not understand this still plays 3DS games, even though it's called the 2DS.

Really, what it tells me is Nintendo should have just left the 3D name/tech off from the start.

1.foldable design means nothing for me if it were a problem I'd never have purchased a gameboy, gameboy pocket, gameboy color, gameboy micro, gameboy advance, or psp.

2.better button layout design? the button layout of the 2ds is almost exactly the same as the 3ds don't talk about design when you've not even held the 2ds.

3.Bigger screen is the only legitimate point but its a portable so I'm not looking for a huge screen unless I can get one.WilliamRLBaker

1. Fair point.

2. Fair point, and like I said to someone else, maybe I would feel differently if I held it, but the button layout, to me, just looks bothersome.

3. I can undestand that, but for me, I have just found after the XL, and now Vita, I just cannot go back to smaller handheld screens.

Is it just me, or is this thing growing on anyone else the more they look at it?treedoor
Not really.I mean, maybe I would feel differently if I held it, but that button layout, in particular, looks bothersome.

Plus, between the XL, and now the Vita, I found I just cannot go back to smaller handheld screens. Though, I am sure we will eventually see a 2DS XL.

The Vita is finished, checkmate Sony.

If anything, I do think Sony should release a Vita Mini.

Otherwise, I do not get the Vita XL rumors. Vita is already a XL.

[QUOTE="Transfer_Point"]

[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]As I said before this thing is great  the two reasons I wouldn't touch a 3ds 150+ price, and nasuea inducing, eye strain causing pseudo 3d are now gone, I even like the unit it self gives nice handholds.WilliamRLBaker

I understand the cocern about the price, and I am guessing removing the 3D feature was probably the biggest factor in allowing Nintendo to drop the price, but for the record, you do understand with the 3DS/XL you can just turn off the 3D, right? I have a XL, and I NEVER use the 3D.

why should I have to pay for a chief feature infact THE chief feature if im just going to turn it off?

If you ask me, foldable design, better button layout/design, and bigger screen, in the case of the XL.

Why doesn't it fold ? A good handheld must have portability and this sh*t doensn't have it. FAILZensword
I am guessing because flip desgin is considered old fashion, and they wanted a deviced the more resembled modern devices like tablets, or something. Never mind the fact most people use their tablets at home, where as a lot of kids do take there DS with them outside, or on the road.

With that being said, I agree. To me, lack of the flip desgin, and therefore, portabality, is a big problem.

Well, that, and the name. Imagine there is going to be a lot of confused parents out there.

I just do not get the name. That is going to confused the marketplace. There is going to be a lot of parents who will not understand this will still play 3DS games.

And why the hell remove the flip design? I get the flip design is not cool anymore, or whatever, but it makes it less portable.

With that being said, I do like the idea of a 3DS that matches the price of the DS Lite, and I understand removing the 3D feature, for parents are scared of it, or people like me, with my XL, who NEVER use it.
