I think I will be going with this for my HD 4850 :

ASUS EAH4850/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121253

and this for the crossfire motherboard:

ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131299

With the two of those on newegg Ill be getting a $30 dollar discount making it look even better. :)

You have to look at benchmarks when comparing an ATI card to an Nvidia card, not their specs.

The HD4850 is cheaper and faster than the 9800GTX XXX (except in Crysis where it loses by 2.3 fps). Proof

Ohhhhhhhh I see , I also learned what Crossfire is now. Thanks so much for clearing that up for me! I'm definatly getting a crossfire MB for when I get more money for my computer. Thanks a bunch everyone!

(True. you do not need LSI really.)

but on occasion it's nice to have LSD. that's a joke. but I personally would suggest that you grab a crossfire motherboard if you're looking to the future at all, as well as an hd4850. if you grab another later on, it will be a system fit for a dude who likes good systems, I guess.

I am unsure on how the HD4850 is better than the XFX and for the future. Is there something Im missing? From all I can tell the XFX has better specs.

This is the one I was looking at

Don't go with an AMD processor - if you're on a budget, the E7200 is an excellent buy, or even the E8400 if you can afford it.

For the motherboard, you've got an AMD and Intel board listed - I wouldn't bother with SLI though, not on your budget. Something like the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L would be the best bet if you ask me.

Regarding the graphics card, I'd probably opt for the HD4850 instead of the 9800GTX. It's a marginally better card, especially in DirectX 10 mode and with AA enabled.

For the hard drive, I'd definitely stick with the SE16, the raptors are pretty hot and loud, not to mention more likely to fail.

Power supply, definitely stick with Corsair.

And for the case, pick whichever one you like better.

Would the ASUS P5Q LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard better than the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L? Its about $20 dollars more and has ALOT better rating than that one. The user reviews have me afraid of getting it.

Also sorry for the late response but thank you all so much for the help.

Power Supply:
CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 Power Supply 90 - 264 V UL, CUL, CE, CB, FCC ****B, TUV, CCC, C-tick

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004
-or-
Rosewill RP600V2-S-SL 600W SLI Ready-ATX12V V2.01 Power Supply 115/230 V CSA,UL,TUV,FCC

And I was thinking about this for a new Case:
NZXT Nemesis Elite Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146030

Yes its supposed to be able to run Crysis. The thing is though is that I do beleive these peices have already been presummed from new egg and tiger direct and come out at $875. Its actually also a build your own computer parts as they are seperate prices and not a package. Here is the link http://kotaku.com/345278/crytek-specs-out-an-affordable-crysis-pc?cpage=2#viewcomments

Can you show me a good guide? I can't find any good ones and most go over my head.

Hello everyone , I have had the same computer for quite some time now and beleive its time for a new one. I don't have alot of money so I had a question about a certain setup. The crytek computer looks really nice to me since its cheap( my budget is around $900 - $1,200) and able to run games , but everywhere I go to read about how well it plays people only post their computer specs instead of any good information. I'm not very online savvy with parts in general but I try to understand. So my question is :

Is the crytek computer really a good deal?

Can it play other games such as Bioshock , Mass Effect , MMO's (FFXI respectivly) , and the upcoming games Aion and Diablo3 on a good high setting very well?

Does anyone know a better deal than the crytek one?

I already have a keyboard , mouse , monitor , and other such things I only need the computer itself.

Thanks for the time and I hope to hear from you soon.

-Traya
