In a recent press release, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 6 has gone Gold, meaning the development of the game is done, and it can be manufactured.

Capcom has partnered with Japanese social mobile games company GREE to bring Resident Evil: Mercenaries to iOS and android later this year.
Resident Evil: Mercenaries will feature Deathmatch and King of the Hill. Three playable characters have been revealed so far: Chris, Jill and Claire.
No EU or US relese announced as of yet.

Capcom has confirmed a new demo for Resident Evil 6 that will be available to download from Xbox Live and PlayStation Network from September 18.
The demo will feature completely new content from all the three campaigns. You can play alone or team up with someone online.
Play as either Leon S. Kennedy or Helena Harper and further explore the dark corridors and moonlit grounds of Ivy University, swarming with the victims of the latest bioterrorist attack.
The action in Jake's mission switches to the neon-lit streets of Lanshiang as he and Sherry Berkin fight off the J'avo, including their fully mutated forms. Be sure to check out Jake's special hand-to- hand combat moves and Sherry's stun baton as you struggle to stay alive.
Showcasing Resident Evil 6's global setting, Chris Redfield and Piers Nivans head with fellow BSAA team members to the war-ravaged streets of Edonia. The amassed J'avo forces provide a stiff enough challenge, but that's before the 3-storey high B.O.W. Ogroman crashes the party. Select Piers for a slightly different weapons loadout to Chris including a sniper rifle with thermal scope.
Also, PS3 owners of Dragon's Dogma will from September 5 be able to play the previously Xbox 360 exclusive demo by downloading it with token redemption on the PlayStation Store.
Resident Evil 6 will release on October 5 in Europe and North America for Xbox 360 and PS3, with a PC version to follow.

Siliconera reports that Resident Evil 6 will have an unlockable ability that allows you to play the game without the help of your partner. Your partner will be present in the game, but they won't help you if an enemy holds you down, for instance. They will still help you open doors and other things that require a partner. You will be able to unlock this ability with Skill points.
