Super Paper Mario fails to meet the hype no matter whether you are going by here or a cumulative. Sorry.Runningflame570
Sorry? Failing to meet AAA hype (by the order of two tenths of a point) doesn't mean that it is somehow bad or unoriginal.

[QUOTE="Blackbond"][QUOTE="SolidTy"][QUOTE="Kev_Unreal"][QUOTE="SolidTy"]Good for Nintendo, Good for Nintendo Fans, and Good for Wii Owners, but not necessarily good for HARDCORE gamers. SolidTy
Define hardcore gamers?
I went back and edited, again, I just played Wii Play with some friends today, and Love my Wii, but so far that's what I feel. Still, I can't wait for SSBB, Metroid, Mario Galaxy, etc.
Still finishing up the GC-fun-Port Super Paper Mario as we speak (With me lady).
So I guess you won't be playing Heavenly Sword because its an Xbox Port? I guess nobody will be playing Too Human because its a PS1 and Gameube port?
LOL. Nice try, but those are going to be radically different and GRAPHICALLY ENHANCED, like Kameo, before I get my mits on them. Nintendo is the only company I know that could cancel a game for one system, and release it on the next gen system, and get defended even though the game is graphically the same as it was before (Zelda, Paper Mario).
Imagine if Sony cancelled God of War II LAST MINUTE, and released it on PS3, with the same graphics, although they added Motion control with SIXAXIS? LOL.
Anyways, I digress, I did buy Super Paper Mario, so obviously the quick answer is yes, I would still play Too Huma and Heavenly Sword, EVEN IF THEY WERE THE SAME...but they won't be. Only Nintendo could get away with that. It's okay though, Paper Mario is great, except for the lack of Voice Acting(C'mon Nintendo, pay for voice actor's already), andthe lack of a run button.
To reiterate, Yes, I do play ports, all the time, But I do like to mention they are ports (LOL. Kameo N64 port, snicker.)
SolidTy, let me ask you something: if the saturation point for 2D graphics was reached years ago, how in God's name would revamping the graphics of Super Paper Mario benefit the game? What the hell would redrawing the sprites have done for it? Thanks for your time.
I'm surprised, and I give them credit. Still, it has the absolute worst lineup of all three consoles. I'm enjoying Super Paper Mario right now, but once I finish that, what's next? More crap like Brain Age, or some mini-game compilation, no thanks. At least MS and Sony get real games on their consoles.Gamer46
Unless you like football (Mario Stirkers Charged), you probably will have to wait till fall to play some fantastic games (of course, Nintendo always could surprise us, seeing as they only named their lineup through June). NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, No More Heroes, Treasure Island Z, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Dewy's Adventure, and Dragon Quest Swords are promising third party titles. Between those and Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I'll be a broke motherf***er.
Glad to see you're enjoying SPM too though. It's awesome.
[QUOTE="Mardil"]Just imagine FF:CC on GCN. Add some blur and shine here and there, and a little more detail to character models. Oh, and probably some improved backgrounds and you got yourself FF:CC for Wii.DA_B0MB
That game was F'ing HORRIBLE... XD
Damn, you didn't like the original? Did you play four player or by yourself? If you played single player, I can understand why you wouldn't like it. Co-op was infinitely better.
[QUOTE="iunderstand"]Because when the Playstation entered the market people stopped caring about the actual games and more about the visual presentation. Playstation expanded the market and brought people in who liked easy and pretty games.drsports1980Playstation was the first console to bring 3d gaming to the market. It was revoloutinary for its time.
Jaguar? Saturn? 3D0 systems?
News on horseback? :lol:TekkenMaster606
Give the Pony Express a break.
[QUOTE="Tristam22"]Twice the power of the GC (if that's what he was referring to anyways) is more accurate than saying it's the same power as the GC. Hell, look at the E3 2006 MP3 walkthrough video. That game is to MP (which already was pushing the GC's graphical capabilities) what Ninja Gaiden Sigma is to NGB. And even that is an early build; Retro already promised to give the game a graphical facelift from its E3 build, which is probably one reason for the delay.
Besides, on paper, GC only looked about 4 times more powerful than N64, but anyone who knows anything can tell you that these leaps bring about generational leaps in CPUs and GPUs tend to bring exponential leaps in graphics capability.
Again, the visual success of the original XBox over the GC was having over 2x the RAM of GC, which allowed for greater variety and sizes of texture. The Wii has more RAM than the XBox.

I was just joking. Remember that guy who said that at GDC ?
Oh I know, I just couldn't remember his name (that's why I said "if that's what he was referring to anyways [when he said 'two GCs duct taped together']"). I just wanted to point out that double the power of the GC isn't too far off the mark.
Of course not.
Everyone knows it's two GameCubes duct taped together.
