@tourdefist Yeah, I'll agree with the load screens, they were bloody stupid. But the glitches were not that bad. I certainly didn't come across anything game breaking and nothing that isn't really forgivable by putting it down to it being an open world game.
Just my opinion ofcourse, once you got over the opening slowness, ACIII was fanny-tastic for the most part.
I'm looking forward to Far Cry. If kevin was the only reviewer to give it this score it might be worth a raised eyebrow. But he seems to be backing up what others have already said
@LockDeltz @SavageEvil Well, no. Internet access is what you pay your ISP for. That's like saying "Youtube have banned me for putting up racist videos. But I pay for internet, I can do what I want with it!"
Ofcourse you can do what you want, but you have to face the consequences of doing something that breaks the contract you formed between yourself and the company involved.
How draconian the DMCA is is not in question, the issue is you using someone elses system (the PSN) with hardware that is not meant to be on it. Your argument is that it's your machine and you can do with it what you like. Sure you can. But, if you do something to it that fundamentally changes the way it works, then you can't expect to use the PSN.
You wouldn't argue that some formula one driver can use his car on the track with mods that are against the rules would you? No. because all the drivers need a level and fair playing field. The PSN is the same. You don't have a standard machine, you can't come and play. It protects sony, it protects the software developers and it protects those of us that want to play online with legitimate consoles and legitimately bought games.
I may sound like a sheep, and I don't mind that. I understand that while Sony is a customer driven business, it is still a business and needs to protect itself.
@LockDeltz @SavageEvil You're only being denied the service if you connect to the online portion of the service, which you have not paid for, in a way that violates the terms that you sign allowing you access to said service.
Why does no one rag on MS for perma-bannning modified consoles? or for banning pirates?
@LockDeltz You accepted a terms of service stating that you would only connect your PS3 to the PSN service (something you do not own) unmolested and free from pirated software and custom firmware.
You can do as you please with your PS3. Mod it, use it as an ashtray, whatever you like. But if you take it online and connect it to someones server with a machine that shouldn't be connecting, then you and your machine will be subject to a ban.
Shame, Show is great and Sutter is a proper character (The dude made me piss myself laughing on twitter regular, only unfollowed because he spoiled the start of season 5 before we got it in the UK)
He would have fit in well in dev meetings I think!
