@GSJones1994 @ShadowOfKratos You two are being presumptuous and are taking a shitty poll of just over two thousand people as scripture. The sample for this "study" is far too small to be conclusive of anything other than... Yes, yes there is a big spaghetti monster, and he has lovely meatballs.

@Draco416 @CptJohnnyRico @Tuckpoint That's a part of maturing that everyone but the very lucky experience. Most of us do things we do not want to just to put bread on the table. I'm not sure the incentive to kill people is there however. Having offered an allowance for taking out trash and doing dishes, neither child has taken me up on the offer. So instead they do that work as their part of the upkeep. My daughter does an AWFUL job of doing dishes so she shall continue to do them as her exclusive chore until she gets it right. She gets no money for doing a lousy job as in the real world she would be fired and have no money just the same.

They beg for money when they could have EARNED that money outright and done it all themselves, this is the lesson I'm currently trying to get them to understand. They just do not get what 'incentive' means yet I guess :P

@CptJohnnyRico @Tuckpoint Now there is something I can agree with you on. Both of my older children own Kindle Fire tablets and are online (mostly youtube) almost constantly. I feel that if I didn't get them these devices, the ones every other kid has, they will be looked down upon or made fun of. We're not a wealthy family, my boy is just lucky I share the same hobby as he does. So toys like that come at xmas if they come at all. I think you and I are just the old folks telling them to TURN THAT SHIT DOWN at this point. Much like our parents did to us as kids.

@Lei_11 @Tuckpoint The talking is a good start I think, but I also log into things like Minecraft (which I admit I enjoy) as a unknown to watch how he's behaving in said game. I want to know if he's calling people N word, f*g, things that online gaming seem to promote. You turned out OK, and I did too, its the mentally unstable from shitty homes that you need to worry about. Unfortunately in rural America, there are plenty of white trash homes to breed that kind of ignorance.

@CptJohnnyRico @Draco416 @Tuckpoint Do you have kids? You are comparing them to dogs, which are quite a bit less intelligent. If you do not have kids, do not preach to me about a subject you have little experience with. I do not give my kids treats for doing a good job lol? Lectures can be boring, but as 'Dad' that's my job. I have grown up fine, and haven't had any desire to shoot, kill or even beat anyone up. With all the hyperbole these days, it is my own judgement I trust most.

@M15F1TT @Tuckpoint I have friends that I've had similar thoughts about their practices. However, it wasn't them being ignorant of what ESRB ratings mean, they just plain don't give a shit. Apathy is a plague, a popular one at that. :\

@Lei_11 @Tuckpoint No, I defend no franchise with my argument. I personally own two God of War games that my children do NOT get to play, for fairly obvious reasons. And yes, all games incorporate 'killing' even Mario. Just because it's cartoon violence doesn't make it not violent lol. Obiviously an extreme over exaggeration of what Mario is doing. Do you like games like Ratchet and Clank? I loved those games, even if a bit childish. They are gun laden and you're blasting anything that moves. Video games are violence in one form or another. The only game I recall playing that wasnt OVERLY violent, still had violence. ICO, great game for a change of pace.

@CptJohnnyRico @Tuckpoint You do realize that when I let my son play a video game, it is a game I have tried myself? I broke open Black Ops 2 and played the shit outta it for a week before xmas, THEN wrapped it up and gave it to my son as a present. Yes I do realize there are things called kill streaks. There have been kill streaks in games since the afore mentioned games like Quake. I am using common sense, mines just a little less overly PC.
