Cleared the CMOS, reseated the card, disabled onboard graphics, uninstalled the old nvidia drivers, reinstalled the new ATI drivers, and the ones on the CD, but nothing happens. Someone please help me out. I'm sure someone is aware of my problem.

im thinking your card is loose in its slot (not seated properly) or that you havent installed the latest drivers..

ensure both of these are correct then restart the computer.. see if this does anything okay.ionusX

I don't think it's a seating problem because the fan is running on the card right now. But for some reason the motherboard won't recognize it. I've heard something about clearing the CMOS? what will this do?

No one has any idea why the computer won't recognize the card anymore?

Here is the full story, if this helps: Was working fine for four hours at least. Temp didn't go above 38c, and graphics were running maxed. After a few hours I decided to try to run LotRO in HD. I grabbed my HDTV, which can double as a computer monitor, and plugged in the VGA cord, and the HDMI cord into both the computer and the monitor. Nothing happened when I switched the input mode to HDMI, so I thought maybe if I restarted the computer with the VGA cord unplugged, the computer would automatically recognize the HDMI and run in HD.

Well, nothing happened, so I plugged the VGA cord back in, and then couldn't get a display out of that, so, with no other option, I had to shut the computer down with the power button. I tried multiple more times, and each time I would up having to shut the computer down by holding the power button. After about an hour, there started being no signal from the graphics card with either monitor I used. Then this morning when I turned the computer on, it had me run the repair tool on start up, which I ran, but still nothing worked. Right now I'm using the built in graphics on the computer, just enough to display the screen, but not the integrated.

I don't think the card is broken, as I can still hear it, see it, and feel the fan spinning, but yet I still get no signal. I tried calling the ATI help line, but it's not operational on the weekend. Please help me fix this problem. I would really appreciate it.

Last night I received a Sapphire HD4670 graphics card. I plugged it in, and it was working fine for the next few hours. Then I got the bright idea of trying to use my display in HD. After messing around with some settings, the VGA cord no longer recognizes a signal from the card's VGA input. There is no display on any of my monitors. Also, when I use SIW it says that the PCI-E slot is available, even though I have the card in the slot. I can see and feel the fan running, and it was running perfectly fine last night before, so I don't think anything is wrong with the card. I even tried uninstalling all the drivers and using a system restore, but nothing worked. I would really appreciate some help.

Thanks :) This sounds like a good idea. How do you think it will all hold up with games?

I'm in the market for a new graphics card and PSU. My goals are to be able to play most newer games at high-ish settings at 1440x900 res. The rest of my computer is pretty decent. Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.60 GHz

2GB of RAM

Vista Home Premium

Integrated GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

This is a prebuilt Dell, which is why I'll be upgrading the PSU as well. MY budget is around $150 for everything. Willing to go slightly higher, but not too much. Thanks for any help you have to offer. :)
