when I heard the PS3 was $600 I bought a 360 since I could afford it at the time.

Yeah the money was definatly a factor in my console choice.  I might get a PS3 if I get a higher paying job but economy being what it is...

I realize that they mostly went with main characters but I feel that you can't make a FF fighting game without some fighting-game-esq characters. Namely Shadow. HES A NINJA. Other characters like this would be Tifa or Zell.

Any of you SE fans also fans of Fallout? Anybody playing 3? What do you think of it? How do you like that type of RPG as compared to the SE JRPG style?

from what i see in the first few minutes of gameplay, this one is gonna be a winner in my books - again, proving my point that reviewers and i rarely see eye to eye ;)SymonDezyn

Your anti-review attitude works fine for you, I have a feeling you made up your mind in a positive manner before hand.  But for me money is a factor.  I don't want to lay down a lot of cash before hearing what others have to say about it.  I guess there is always rentals too.

BUMP

I know I've recently lamented about the lack of new bushido blade somewhere on this board before.  Those games were great.  New FM would be cool but I still haven't finished the last one so no bother

....and then SE pumps life back into the shooter genre by releasing a revolutionary sequal to Einhander! YAY

I would love to have a copy of Einhander. I played the demo on a Playstation Magazine disk back before it came out and thought it was great. Bushido Blade was a great game. Some people above are claiming that all of their non RPG games are derivative of other genre blockbusters but I'm not aware of a fighting game like Bushido Blade before or since (save BB2 of course). My friend and I loved playing against each other in BB. The lack of a damage bar and one hit kills provided a drama and tension not present in other fighting games. Being able to run around in the large stages was refreshing as well. I often feel that while other fighters might have lush graphical environments, the inability to explore and interact with them makes it feel useless.

I don't think it's a ripoff. They (SE) can port what ever they want and if it people want it then they will buy it. The price isn't a issue since as with any game you can wait a few months and buy a used copy for a big discount.

Here is what I think is a ripoff, why when SE is porting all these great old games aren't other companies doing the same thing with games that are inaccessible to the US gamer? Why not port some of the hundreds of great Japanese games from the last fifteen to twenty years? My prime example here is Mother 3 (Earthbound). Yes I know it's not an SE game but I'm gonna talk about it anyway. I was very excited when I learned they were making this game two years ago. I went out and bought a GBA just to play it! I was so mad when they didn't port it to the US. It makes no sense! If SE can make money porting old games to the PS1 AND to two generations of Nintendo handhelds why can't a company like Nintendo do the same with Mother 3!? And even SE has a catalogue of games that would be great for DS. How about perennial emulator classics Bahamut Lagoon or Seiken Densetsu 3? What SE fan wouldn't jump at the chance to play Secret of Mana 2 with bonus content. These are games we should have been playing 10 years ago anyway!

OK, end of rant.

Mega Man with Street Fighter a close second.

I only played the first Breath of Fire so I can't count it as a franchise but that would be my favorite Capcom game.

I have over 200 hours and I'm still not done with EVERYTHING. I recommended the game to a friend and he shot through it in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if he did it in under 40. He kept asking me why he didn't have any good equipment :).
