My preference is digital, however I still buy majority on disc. The reasons for still buying disc are:
- Download times;
- Cost of the digital marketplace is more expensive than store; and
- Cannot trade-in digital games.
The d/l times can be overcome by installing at night I guess, but economically it still does not make sense to buy online. If / when the marketplaces become like steam, or they start selling at the retail price points I would be more inclined to purchase online. The advantages of online are no clutter in the place, I do not need a box or anything and the other is being able to play games without getting up to switch out a disc.
Sometimes I will be sitting on the couch watching something or doing something and a friend invited me to play something else, I would rather be able to just launch the game then need to switch discs etc. That and their are games I only want to play in short bursts i.e. Battlefront and if I have to get up and switch the disc I will probably just do something else.
