Well i have been out of touch with gaming news and reviews and all of that for quite some time now.But it's finally time now.In 2 weeks i will have the choice of either getting a ps3 or 360.I am hard on reasearch on the internet now.But i want the opinion of u ppl.I know very well this place and wont be basing my decision on what is said here but their r still plenty of ppl here who give out unbiased and intelligent responses.

Ok i am listing out my prefences in gaming and other stuff in detail.

1.Genres or sub-genres I absolutely hate=Rpg's,strategy and fighting games.I also totally dislike tactical shooters.Now it's not that i never play a rpg or a fighter it's just that i want to say that a console having whatever advantages in these genres just doesnt count for me at all.I usually dont like cartoonish games however that is not always true for e.g. i loved okami.

2.My favourite type of games r arguably 3rd person action games.Third person action games like ninja gaiden,god of war,devil may cry,re4,gta,mgs and max payne r my favourite kind of games.However i also love first person shooters no doubt about it.I was very happy with my ps2 for a long time.But then i bought the xbox soley because i was very dissapointed with the quality of shooters on the ps2 and got the xbox only to play some damn shooters.So basically some damn action games is my favourite genre.However the important thing is that i would take a great 3rd person action game anyday over a similarly great FPS.

3.I also LOVE well made adventure games.I loved games like ICO and Dreamfall.However i dont usally enjoy every adventure game that get's good reviews for e.g. SOTC.I also like racing games quite alot whether it be burnout or forza or need 4 speed.In sports games i only play soccer but plenty of it.I also like platformers but only the very good ones.

4.What is my take on online gaming?Well the problem is that i have never played online cuz i dont have broadband but now i will have and cant wait to play online cuz i have waited too long for it.I dont know whether i will get addicted to it or not but the thought of competing online in a game in which i am good at and then climb the rankings certainly seems addicting.

5.Even if a console has a graphical advantage it doesnt really matter to me because i know that both systems have the graphics to satisfy me.However if a console has a SIGNIFICANT graphical advantage like the xbox had over the ps2 then do let me know.

6.The higher price of the ps3 is no problem and the charges for 360 online is also not a problem.I am not concerned with any NON-GAMING activities of either consoles.

The xbox 360 was the 3rd best selling console of february in the US.The wii was the top seller with the ps2 taking second place.And please dont bring in the fact that 360 is more expensive then these 2 because that will always be the case.And despite being twice more expensive the wii outsold the ps2.

When u look at the overall console race then sony won it in feb as the combined sales of the ps2 and ps3 were significantly more than the combined sales of the cube and wii.However microsoft again comes in third over here with dissapointing combined sales of xbox and xbox 360.

Sony dont have to be worried bout the ps3 sales as long as the ps2 is selling cuze that will bring in plenty of games revenue.If the ps2 doesnt sell only then u can attack the ps3 cuz then u can say that sony consumers have shifted.

I personally like microsoft and i think they do alot for a hardcore gamer but i just dont see them staying in this gaming business like this.

If u look at the top 50 games of all time at gamerankings then u will see that the first 21 games r more single player based than multiplayer.Then comes the first multiplayer focused game at no. 22 in halo 2.The next game is at 33 which is chaos theory.Then another multiplayer focused game is at no. 34 in gears of war.Then at no. 38 is unreal tournment.And the last multiplayer focused game in the top 50 is at no. 41 in mgs3:subsistence.So in the top 50 there r only 5 multiplayer focused games and it is certainly arguable whether choas theory and subsistence should be called multiplayer focused or not because they certainly provide a long single player unlike the other 3.

This is what i always say that a game simply wont be earth shattering for me if it does not provide a satisfying single player experience and i think that gamerankings agrees with me.

Well basically my point is that the 360 has failed miserably in providing an excluisve earth shattering single player experience.The wii already has it in zelda but the ps3 is still waiting.

P.S. The d-pad is only important for 1 type of games (fighting), whereas the analog sticks (which X360 has the best, and PS3 has the worst) is important in all next-gen games.True_Gamer_

Read the review, God of War 2 is a good looking game but there are frequent screen tearing issues, that's why it was marked down. Besides MGS3 looks better IMO.

That still doesn't fix screen tearing. And I still say MGS3 looks better.

God of war is good, but next to Ninja Gaiden black it's a button masher. Combat needs a lot of work to even be considered alongside Ninja Gaiden.JoeWii60
