[QUOTE="Vaizard34"][QUOTE="joeblak"][QUOTE="thejakel11225"]I doubt it, but hey anything could happen. Also don't forget that this is sony we're talking about here, the company that dominated the console war for the last 2 gens, so i think they know what they're doing, people tend to forget that.mjarantilla
People said the same thing about Nintendo before the N64 came out...
Nintendo also had no real competition. Sony has had competition and rose to the occasion while Nintendo folded.
Sony also didn't exactly do it themselves. Nor do I think they did the lion's share of the work to sell those 220 million consoles. They relied a LOT on third parties, much more so than Nintendo or Microsoft ever did. That worked fantastically for them in the past, but now third parties are splitting their resources between the 360 and PS3, and, of course, the Wii is steadily pulling third party attention towards it.
Consoles are sold from license agreements. That's how the business works. The more support you get thet better off. That's why any console wins. That's why Microsoft and Nintendo lost to Sony. This gen Sony is putting out more first party games because third parties are too poor to deal with next gen development costs. That's why games are going multiplat. The winner of this gen will either be the PS3 or 360. After the price drops on those consoles it'll be like a second launch. You saw the results from the PS3 price drop. Then the Wii will be phased out due to it's inferiority and loss of it's only advantage... cost. You never see any Wii screen shots being touted on here unless it's a joke. That's because the Wii is a joke and only a limited noveltly. While the PS3 and 360 are here to stay and the battle rages on. When that happens the Wii will be forced into obscurity.
