what im trying to do is have the modem broadcast the wireless signal, then i want my netgear router to pick it up so i can have internet up on a different floor without having to drill holes through the celing and wire an ethernet cable all the way up there and no my house doesnt have ethernet ports, this house is very well older than you.

I dont want to broadcast it twice, I wanna broadcast it once and have the netgear pick the signal up and send it to my computer

Alright, I have a modem that has a wireless antenna on it so obviously it sends out a wireless internet connection, this one is hooked up straight to the internet. Upstairs i have my computer and my netgear wireless router, is there possibly a way to search for connections and try using the wireless router to pick up the internet from the modem that we got from out ISP?
