Use the component cables. There is no noticeable difference between VGA/DVI hdmi/ component. CPM_basic

what he said. Your 26" tv will only support 720p properly. It won't physically have enough pixels to display 1080i. The tv will support a 1080i input signal as this is required to meet the HD standard but will downscale it for you to 720 and therefore actually not be as smooth as 720p as it will only have half the updates (see google progressive scan vs interlaced for more info). This is the case for all HD tvs up to about 36"(ish) but it ofcourse depends on the native resollution of your TV. Long and short of this is save the $50, use the supplied component cables and buy another game. And also set the output of your 360 to 720p and not 1080i. Your tv will only end up downscaling it to 720i anyway.

yea it is all about the premium. If you get the core, as soon as you start buying memory cards and other accessories that come in the premium pack you will regret your decision. Get the premium.

If you have no spare cash get the extension cable - problem solved. However, if you do have some spare cash then deffo get yourself an HDTV. so much better for 360 gaming.

I'm from the UK and so don't really know US hardware prices but I can't believe you could get a really good gaming PC for $700. If you will only be using your PC for work and have no multimeda needs then get the cheap pc and buy the 360. I'm lucky enough to have a reasonable gaming PC and a 360 premium and I have to say the vast majority of my gaming time is taken up on the 360. So in summary go for A :)
