Unfortunately the odds of him winning the GOP nomination are slime. He'll run as an independant as he always does. I wonder how much support Patraeus would get if he ran. I've heard his name thrown around. Mitch Daniels as well.
I am fearing that someone like Mitt Romney or even Sarah Palin, both of those would be terrible choices but they could win the nomination but Patraeus probably won't win it either but Mitch Daniels or Bobby Jindal can win the nomination.
It will be interesting to see if a Democratic White House and a potentially Republican Congress could produce similar results that the later Clinton years saw.

Only time can tell and I am being hopefully that combination can be a good one for the country and hopefully in 2012 we can take back the White House as well.
It's definitely hard to tell if that is possible at this point. There is really no standout candidate for the White House for the Republicans.
