I suspect that D3 won't be as addictive as D2masterdrat

I played the Diablo 3 beta and it doesn't have nearly the atmosphere that Diablo 2 did. Compared to Diablo 2, Diablo 3 looks all cartoony with bright colors. Diablo 2 looked dark and a bit more serious. I usually don't mind somewhat cartoony looking games, for example I like Kingdoms of Amalur. However, Diablo 3's cartoony look was a big let down since the previous two Diablo games didn't have that look.

It's really a lot better than DS 3, TL, everything is better than TQ, Sacred 2 is a joke if you want to make a point at least use Sacred 1 which is the best after Diablo.DanielDust

Diablo 3, it's the only one I want from this thread.

GW 2 isn't GW 1, this comparison you're trying to make isn't appropriate and people calling Diablo a MMO and approving what's here are pretty...insane.

DanielDust
Diablo 3 might not be an MMO, but that's really not the issue. It's just not a very good game. For some reason, you seem to feel the need to defend Diablo 3 all the time on these forums. I think you need to realize the fact that Diablo 3 is not a perfect game. It is far from it. It is nothing more than a decent online hack-n-slash RPG game. It's really no better than Dungeon Siege 3, Torchlight, Titan Quest, Sacred 2, and some others. I would assume that the Lineage series of games are more popular all over the world than the Diablo series. Does that make the Lineage games the greatest games ever? No, far from it. They are simple decent online hack-n-slash RPGs. So Diablo 3 is the not the be-all, end-all of games. It's not even a great game. It's simply a decent game that is way overhyped. I used to play Diablo 2 a lot, back when it was released, until I realized there are much better games out there and there's nothing special about the Diablo series of games. On the other hand, back when it was released, the original Diablo was a breakthrough game and very original, but since then, the hack-n-slash RPG genre has had many far better games come out.

this game is a return to the stone age...no sir, i dont like it.rhazzy
Not a return to the stone age at all. Just a more traditional gameplay style that is very proven in its own right. Tile-based gameplay can still be used very effectively in modern games and Grimlock proves this. Grimlock is a modern game that just happens to use more traditional gameplay elements and does this extremely well.

It's up there with Demon's Souls. Up where? Cloud nine?

-Unreal-
Obviously you've never played Demon's Souls. Demon's Souls is said to have some of the best atmosphere of any RPG ever, and Legend of Grimrock's atmosphere is just as good. Yes, Grimrock really is THAT good.

Legend of Grimrock is hardcore! A REAL RPG, no B.S. Just a straight up dungeon crawl with a creepy atmosphere and lots of monsters and enemies to fight. Very old school features with all kinds of stats to choose from and traditional RPG elements throughout. Gameplay is phenomenal with:
    * Very well done tile-based movement * Outstanding puzzles * Awesome real-time combat * Great graphics
The atmosphere of this game is great and up there with games like Amnesia (PC) and Demon's Souls (PS3). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

[QUOTE="DanielDust"][QUOTE="Viper5121"]I am now a few hours into Dungeon Siege 3 (full version) and I am using an Xbox-PC controller. I gotta say that this game is FAR better than Diablo 3 beta for single player campaign. The combat is great, the story is good, and the loot is really good too. Of course the graphics totally destroy Diablo 3 graphics. The keyboard/mouse control option in Dungeon Siege 3 is worse than I originally thought, but with a Xbox-PC controller, the game control is great! Anyways, Dungeon Siege 3 is a great game and very underrated!

So you're saying Dungeon Siege is a terrible PC game?

Nope. I am playing the PC version of Dungeon Siege 3 and it plays great with a Xbox-PC controller. IMO, it's a great game and definitely a better single player game than Diablo 3 beta is.

[QUOTE="Viper5121"][QUOTE="FelipeInside"]I thought Dungeon Siege 3 was a failure? Lots of reviews said it wasn't as good as part 1 or 2?Wasdie

Don't believe everything you read. Best to try out games for yourself.

Then you're completely ignoring the whole point of reviews.

Reviews are for people to know the quality and content of a game so they can spend their money wisely. If you're not a fan of a series, a review is a very important tool.

Game reviews are, for the most part, WORTHLESS! All they do is give the opinions of certain reviewers and that's just their opinions. Everyone has their own opinion of games. There have been many great games that I would have never tried if I relied on worthless game reviews. In my opinion, the best way to decide whether a game is worth playing is to look at gameplay trailers/videos and then decide for yourself.
