I am now a few hours into Dungeon Siege 3 (full version) and I am using an Xbox-PC controller. I gotta say that this game is FAR better than Diablo 3 beta for single player campaign. The combat is great, the story is good, and the loot is really good too. Of course the graphics totally destroy Diablo 3 graphics. The keyboard/mouse control option in Dungeon Siege 3 is worse than I originally thought, but with a Xbox-PC controller, the game control is great! Anyways, Dungeon Siege 3 is a great game and very underrated!
The main problem with Diablo 3 is that the combat is incredibly shallow. There is really almost nothing to it. It was good back in the year 2000, but is simply not up to today's standards. Diablo 3 basically lives on its predecessors' glory and has a nostalgia factor, and that's why it's so popular. When you really look at the game, there's really nothing special about it at all. It's a decent game with extremely simple combat, good sound effects, and a good loot system, but that's about it. If it was made by any other company and had any other name, it would be completely overlooked as just some mediocre hack-n-slash RPG with dated graphics. I wouldn't be surprised if people who aren't familiar with the series, have tried out Diablo 3 beta and were like "What the heck? Why is this so popular? I don't get it". I mean, come on, really people, do you REALLY consider Diablo 3 to be a state-of-the-art game with awesome combat and a deep story? Be honest.

Because the beta doesn't represent what we'll see further in the game. Hell I wouldn't even call this a real beta, this is the most restricted beta I have ever been in.. And the excuses for Diablo 3's mediocrity continue.................

Laughable. Aside from the writing, Obsidian really dropped the ball on this one. Something as simple as having tight controls on the PC was totally abandoned. It's a bad game, and I'm an Obsidian fan. :/Elann2008
If you hate the keyboard/mouse controls so much, it's not so difficult to just plug in an Xbox-PC controller which works flawlessly (not that the keyboard/mouse controls are that bad in the first place).

Dungeon Siege 3 has better graphics and combat than Diablo 3. And Dungeon Siege 3 controls (contrary to popular belief) are not bad at all on keyboard and mouse, and on an Xbox-PC controller they are great! Diablo 3 has maybe better sound effects and loot, but that's about it. Yet, Diablo 3 is so hyped just because of nostalgia factor and being a Blizz game, whereas Dungeon Siege 3 is overlooked because the combat is very different (i.e. better) than its predecessors, and some people just don't like the difference for whatever reasons. What do you all think?
