Got to the part where you leave the abandoned ship and go into the alien one. (I know bad description)

When I was playing it, this is the exact same place that I stopped for a long time.
I have to believe that there are just certain points in games where this happens to the most amount of people.
[QUOTE="HaloinventedFPS"]FF11 was great. 14 simply didn't evolve.New patch that will fix the game wont come out until 2013
and its a console MMO which = instant fail

This is what I was saying and how I'm confused with how to move forward. I was intent on buying a second PS3 with which I would keep offline to do my homebrewing. Now my legit PS3 is subject to scary police methods while there would have been no chance of my homebrew PS3 contracting the "dubious I see you!" 3.56 system software since it would have been kept offline... Not funny though :/ Side note, I am surprised that 99% business is still going on. Wow 99 out of 100 people. It would be pretty hard for me to find 99 out of 100 people conforming to most criteria. I guess 99 out of 100 people are humans, 99 out of 100 people are breathing, super broad stuff. But I guess it depends to what extent also. The question that the "IT'S THE SAME THING!" army with its numerous bogus analogies gets wrong several times is the question of if there is a difference between people who maybe downloaded an SNES ROM which they own somewhere but can't find versus someone who uses downloads and downloads and downloads as the chief source of acquiring the latest games. I am inclined to believe that for this 99 percent figure to have a semblance of truth, you would have to go to the shadier side of the gradient. And the funniest thing of this new so called security from sony is that you can access PSN just fine with cfw3.55. So while the legit customers get a rootkit on their ps3 the pirates play just fine online without the rootkit on the PS3.

And there's so much more to it than just scores that people on the outside just can't see. They think well all I have to do look at the the review score numbers and I can create a hierarchy that says this game is better than this game. They can't figure out why I could put 350 hours into only an 8.0 game such as Monster Hunter 3. God of War III got 9.0! But is the difference between all that both game are worth really the difference between an 8.0 and 9.0? Not at all and it's where the notion that PS3 and 360 have such a waterfall over flow of games and the Wii has none came from. It's false and foolish.
Am I arguring that Monster Hunter 3 is better than God of War III? No but the difference is not the difference between an 8.0 and a 9.0 with which people then use to gloat and say haha 8.0 look at my 9.0. It's like an elementary school game. The only way to realize this is to play all those other games that people talk about but you just look up metacritic and think oh 8.0 garbage game, much worse than this here 9.5 game that I've been playing 6 times in a row.
By the way I have and play everything. I'd defend PS3, 360, and PC more if they were the target of this nonsense too but the Wii just gets an unreasonable amount of it.
Definitely Monster Hunter 3, maybe I shouldn't be suprised that I don't see this more in this thread (this is Gamespot after all) but wow. It has over taken the majority of my gameplaying time. I rarely seem to be able to play anything else. The time counter is just under 150 hours (149:48 ) and I still have so far to go. That isn't even half of the time it looks like I wiill have spent after it's all said and done.
[QUOTE="Sandvichman"][QUOTE="eveileb-ekam"] Go ahead, compare any game to SMG2, as long as it has linear level design and environments. eveileb-ekamSo in other words, almost every game made. Any game where you travel from one point to another. Look, its easy enough to understand. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, you travel from point A to point B. The way that I do this is fun, creative and interesting due to the excellent level design. In God of War 3, you travel from point A to point B. The way that I do this is slow, dull and boring due to the bad level design. There you go, valid comparison done. What you did was say: In Super Mario Galaxy, you jump on enemies to kill them. Super Mario Galaxy doesnt have guns, so it is bad. In Halo 3, you shoot enemies to kill them. Halo 3 has guns, so it is good. The comparison here may be valid (if you really really love guns), but is out of context because SMG is not supposed to have guns. Both God of War 3 and Mario Galaxy 2 are supposed to have good level design. (please note, I have no opinion for either game, yet, just using TCs)
People use these bogus "It's like..." comparisons all the time. They have a pretty drastic effect when they are quality and open someone's eyes to what they were really doing with their comparison . But more than half of the time I read something like "the Halo/Mario example with guns" and I'm like, it's not like that at all. I like the distinction between the necessity for both games to have level design. There's a difference between both games needing to have level design and both games needing to have guns.
