Unbelievable, Italy started behind on the score all its 3 matches. Clock is running, and Italy is really wirtting its name in history being disqualified as current champion, like France in 2002.

I want Japan to win too, go NIPON!!! I want to see Paraguai x Japan

edit: Slovakia 2 x 1 Italy

What a great finish. Good to see USA win the group.LTomlinson21

It was a great achievement indeed, specially if Germany finishes 1st. It will raise US chances to reach the 4th-finals a lot. If nothing crazy happens I think Germany will finish 1st and Serbia 2nd, but this world cup is full of surprises... I'm posting this message listening to the radio, games have started :)

[QUOTE="SamiRDuran"][QUOTE="fighter91"]and people were saying england was a favorite to win the world cup. if there is something that really annoys me, it's the superiority that the English fans have and how they think their squad is the best of the world. Chutebox
yeah i hate that as well and especially watching the world cup at bbc or itv they mock any other team and when they fail they blame the new ball or the goal keeper. its really pathetic

Oh my God your sig is awesome.

Hehehe :) the zidane x materazzi (vuvuzuela version) is awesome indeed!

I cant belive Ronaldinho isnt on the Brasil team, some of my friends from Brasil where saying the people are not happy with the coach not having him on the team this year.

They are saying he has a grudge from when the coach was in his last year playign soccer for Brazil team and the 19 year old Ronaldinho stole his starting spot

Gettign some revenge I am hearing.

I can see why Ronaldo isnt on there, injuries and not being in the best shape, but Ronaldinho is still abeast, even if hest not at 100%.

I think Brasil still has a great team, but man I cant get over Ronaldinho now being in there either.

Anyways, GO BRASIL!

What really happened was that, Ronaldinho gave Dunga a "hat". How do you call this trick in English, when you pass the ball over the defender's head?

If USA finishes 1st in its group we'd probably have England X Germany in round of 16.
If Paraguai finishes 1st in its group we'd probably have Italy X Netherlands in round of 16.
And if Spain finishes 2nd in its group we can have Brasil x Spain.

After the first day, I think SA might have a chance of going to the next round. A little difficult, but possible. I hope they beat uruguai and Mexico beats France.
Tomorrow there's USA against England, I think it's going to be a good game!

Yeah, you're right. I start to think I'm not giving all the credit Spain deserves. Yesterday I heard on TV that, the last 48 matches of Spain:

44 wins
3 ties
1 lose (to US in confederations Cup)

These are really impressive numbers and they defently have nice individual talents, I think they can beat everyone, but if they face Brasil or Italy I think they will lose. Brasil has a strong new team, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they fall before the semis, or even if they lose to Ivory Coast and Portugal.

I'm brazilian but my heart is defenetly with the clockwork orange, after them I root for any team wich didn't win yet. I see a lot of people on the net rooting for them, they sure have a beautiful football.

[QUOTE="SaintBlaze"]

I don't really follow soccer but I'll definitely be tuning in and rooting for the good ole USA. :D

taj7575

2 US soccer fans on a board? :o

That calls for this song to be played instantly 8)

Lol, loved that slide -show! I believe US can surely be a pain in the ass for the england team. They can easily tie or even win this first match. They're improving a lot through the last years, they already beat the so-called-best-team Spain in Confederations Cup. Seriously, why everyone is betting on Spain??? I think the most probable thing to happen to US is lose to Germany in 8th-finals. The odds in my opinion are:

20% Brasil
18% Argentina
17% Italy
13% Germany
8% Netherlands
7% England
7% Spain
6% France
3% Paraguai
1% divided among all the other teams

In other words: 68% (maybe more) of chances of the title going to Brasil or Argentina or Italy or Germany
I believe the chances of at least 2 of these 4 teams will be on semi-finals are 80%

Every world cup we assume that the readers will finish first on their groups, but there's always one or two that are surprised and finish 2nd or go home earlier.
What is the team most probable to have trouble in first stage?

A) France
B) Argentina
C) England
D) Germany
E) Netherlands
F) Italy
G) Brasil
H) Spain

I'm not seeing Spanish as strong as people are saying. I think Italy and Germany are stronger with just their traditional strong defenses. Spain lost to USA 2 years ago. Yeah, I know the American team improved a lot but tradition is a thing that really matters in World Cups. The first world cup I have watched was Mexico 1986. We can only see 5 teams that reached the finals over all those years:

1986 - Argentina x Germany

1990 - Germany x Argentina

1994 - Brasil x Italy

1998 - France x Brasil

2002 - Brasil x Germany

2006 - Italy x France

Although England, Spain and France have good players, in my opinion they are always in disadvantage against Brasil, Argentina, Italy and Germany. Just because of tradition, not giving up to the emotions in critical times. Except France x Brasil, France totally owns Brasil. Looking at the last 6 World Cups, Brasil won 2 (94 and 02), lost 1 to argentina(90) and was elimitaded by France the other three times (86, 98, 06).

As a brazilian I see Brasil with a good team, although the press over here criticizes a lot our coach. If I have to put all my chips in a team, I'd choose Argentina, mostly for superstition. All the champions last years were playing mediocre football, a lot lower than the expected, but they got the trophy. I'd love to see a new champion, like Netherlands, Paraguai or an asian/concacaf/african team...

I'm adding you right now jelley0, I'm already added 40 players but no one added me yet. I guess no one comes to check the forums anymore. Too bad, this game rocks, I see new players joining everyday (playing anyone) but I still have no friends. I've just reached 500 points playing anyone, now I need to reach 500 playing friends in order to unlock more skins for my bike :)
