LittleBigPlanet, hands down. Not only is it great stylistically but everything in it has this amazing tactile quality. The wood looks like it would feel like wood, cloth like cloth, etc. It's a glorious testament to what current generation consoles are capable of when they are rendering something besides GRITTY BROWN REALISM. Kids these days and their aversion to games with color and art that looks like it was actually designed by someone with art training.

[QUOTE="VoiceOfPlanet"]I should also point out that I stopped buying games altogether about a year ago thanks to a wonderful thing called GameFly.Arctic_Grillz
Yeah same here, Gamefly helped me save money.

Sure, it's great only spending 23 bucks a month on games but the best thing about GameFly for me is I can play any game I want for as long as I want for 23 bucks a month. I don't think of it as a rental service, I look at it as paid access to a massive game library.

Saying as MGS4 is one never-ending horribly written and obnoxiously pretentious cutscene that is only occasionally interspersed with brief moments of clunky gameplay using sadistically awful controls I'd let them have it for free.

hmm, im not sure about flower because i want something with replay value. any more suggestions? Last guy seems fun. maybe that one. how about worms or wolfenstien? punkrocker163
While I beat Flower over the course of about two hours immediately after downloading it I still play it once or twice a week whenever I feel stressed and want to mellow out a bit. Don't think of it as a game, think of it as a beautiful, esoteric stress ball.

Valkyria Chronicles was a fun enough game to play for me to tolerate the game's catastrophically dangerous levels of anime awfulness.

Unreal Tournament 3 is great because it A: is a direct port of the PC version, down to the ability to install mods, B: supports keyboard and mouse control and C: is an actual good FPS, the kind you play on your PC and are used to, not a horrible console FPS, which speaking as someone who has been playing FPSes on PC since Doom DM, will only let you down.

1: Don't waste your money on the 160, buy the 80 and spend the 100 dollars you saved on a 500 gig laptop drive. 2: 80 is usually more than enough, but upgrading your PS3 to much, much higher capacities is cheap and easy, see above. 3: The hardware failure rate for the PS3 is significantly lower than that of the 360. As to it overheating, I put in a 7 hour marathon session of inFamous the other day at the end of it my PS3 was still cool to the touch. 4: There are free demos and some free bits of DLC but the bulk of it you have to pay for. At least playing online is free. 5: Your PS3 will look nice and shiny until you take it out of the box, when it will then become covered in fingerprints. Don't worry, you won't see the fingerprints under the thick layer of dust the thing attracts (and shows!) like it's getting paid to collect dust. One great thing about the PS3 that most people forget about is you can put Linux on the thing and turn it into a bloody great HTPC.

Tell me, what makes Killzone 2 so great other than how pretty it is? Whenever I hear people talking about how great it is I always hear "the graphics are so amazing!" and never "the game is so much fun!" I played it through and found it to be thoroughly mediocre. And while the graphics are technically impressive it's a really dreary and uninteresting game to look at. Everything is dark and drab. And to give credit where credit is due, Brian Cox was as awesome as he always is.

I've never had to worry about a game I didn't preorder not being in stock on launch day because I don't buy games from Gamestop. Go to Best Buy or Wal-Mart or any place big enough to get more than a handful of copies. As a bonus you won't have an awkward nerd trying to sell you yet another preorder or a magazine subscription or any other of the six dozen things they try to upsell you.
