Shouldn't we be praising a bit of variety? Everybody on here that's bashing MGS4 for having long cutscenes, feel free to go play any other game out there that has little to no cutscenes at all. The MGS series is a total of 4 games, all 4 of these games are known for having a cinematic experience with long cutscenes, these are pretty much the only games in the entire market that have this kind of experience. It's not for everyone, but it's unique, and it should be appreciated. Do you want every game to be like COD4 or Gears of War? MGS4 is special, it's different, and it's not for everyone. At least be glad that Kojima stuck with what he does best and didn't casualize the game like everything else that's coming out nowadays.

[QUOTE="anshul89"]pc gamers - hardcore

console gamers - casual

Hardcore gamers have all systems and have 100k+ gamerscore

Wrong. Gamerscore, achievements, trophies, whatever you want to call it, it's all casual and made for casual players. Hardcore players are the ones that play to win. I don't play a game 50x to find some secret hidden achievement just so my friends will think I'm cool because I have a high gamerscore. Hardcore gamers are good at games, they play games to be the best, and they don't bother themselves with such stupid things as gamerscore.

All of those things were simply invented to give casual players a sense of achievement. Hardcore players play to have fun and they play to be the best. I don't need a number to gauge either of those.

[QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]I officially condemn the haters to damnation. Yet another overwhelmingly positive preview.joopyme

"As for the overall feel of Killzone 2's online experience? Well, it's comparable to Call of Duty 4: Post-Modern Warfare – almost as if Infinity Ward's masterpiece decided to man up, inject some 'roids direct to the vein, and hit the gym hard, before coming back a little more sluggish, but infinitely more beefy and buff.

You see, despite the fact that Killzone 2 feels a great deal slower than the rapid CoD 4, it's definitely more meaty – as in Modern Warfare, enemies will fall thick and fast with a single burst of gun-fire, but Killzone 2's weapons feel as though they pack more of a punch. They're incredibly fun to fire, to the extent that you're content to pass off the shonky balance and inconsistent aiming of the game's weaponry as a necessary sacrifice. "

effin haters.

heres your KZ2 is like COD4 BS.

Did you just happen to miss the bolded part? Sounds like a negative.

He didn't fight anybody in the video. Are you sure you even watched it? All he did was run around and show off the map.

It gives you a general idea of how fun the game is and forces you to read the actual review to get more specifics and decide for yourself whether it's your type of game or not. I think 5 stars works just fine (not that there's anything wrong with GS's system).

[QUOTE="Goten_king"]So i'm assuming anyone bashing Spore hates The Sims... Considering the sims is quite simple, quite shallow, and quite easy, but the customization is what makes the game addicting and fun.

Creating anything you can think of is what makes these games so fun. If you can't find fun in that, you have no imagination. Wanderer5

I agree. I haven't play the sims but for Spore it look like the type of game that if you went from point A to point B then it may not be that great, but if you explore and be creative then it might be a lot more fun, because that where the game seem to be big at.

There is NOTHING to explore until you reach the space stage and there is NO CREATIVITY aside from the cosmetic appearance of your buildings/ship/creature/vehicles. It doesn't change the game play in the slightest.

Even in the space stage there is not much variety when it comes to what you can do. Stop commenting on Spore when you haven't played it. Play it and you will agree with us.

You create something that nobody else has thought of, and then, guess what? The game plays exactly the same as for everyone else. I think most of the beauty in The Sims was the sheer amount of different things that could happen or that you could do. Spore is shallow...really really shallow. I mean, I can probably tell you everything that could possibly happen in one playthrough (especially for the first 4 stages). The Spore hate is not ungrounded.

I will admit that I was never a fan of The Sims. Spore is still worse.

[QUOTE="lettuceman44"]When you use words like definently, and it deserved, than that doesn't mean an opinion online.lettuceman44

Keep ignoring all of the points I made about the game (that you are unable to refute) and focusing on semantics. It's how you win arguments.

What points did you make? All you talked about was how Will Wright gave it bonus points........whats there to argue about? I'm not gonna blindy argue for the sake of arguing.

Where to start? The game is shallow. None of the evolutionary parts of the game were coherent in the slightest. The first 4 phases actually felt completely pointless and simply an introduction to the final (and only worthwhile) phase of the game. The first 4 phases could be done in FLASH. You could customize your character but it meant nothing in the long run.

None of the choices you make throughout the game mean anything because the space stage is basically a whole new game. Choosing custom parts for your character wasn't so much a choice of what looks good as a choice of what has the highest stats, which, imo, pretty much ruined the whole customization thing. Oh and the stats don't even matter past the 2nd stage anyway.

The game was buggy (I encountered several graphical glitches as well as bad AI). The controls were terrible and unncessarily clunky/unresponsive. Did I mention no part of the game was fun? There's absolutely 0 replay value because every playthrough is exactly the same, with a different looking character. There's no online (only an illusion of online, but in reality, randomly generated objects would do just as well).

Do I need to go on? I ranted a bit but that's the gist of it. To summarize, the first 4 stages are so simple they could be made in Flash and the final space stage wasn't enough to carry the entire game on its shoulders. So you get an incomplete game, with no online, very little (if any) replay value. You basically play through for 6 hours not having much fun and never touch it again. How is this a good game? I expect more out of any game 8.0+.
