Lasik Surgery today

After putting it off for so long, I decided to get Lasik vision correction surgery this morning. Everything went well and I am not sitting at home recovering. Yes I am wearing sunglasses to help with bright lights and PC screens. I should be at 85% recovery by tomorrow and at 100% by Sunday morning.

The procedure was quick and painless and was over before I knew it. There is a slight pressure and discomfort at first but it doesnt last long enough to even worry about.  I am excited to have finally had it done!!

Now I can sit on my couch and play video games.... the couch is about 12 feet from the TV... instead of sitting right in front of the TV. I recommend this procedure to anyone who has ever considered it.

I have defeated Ganon and saved Hyrule!

Well, after my last blog, I couldnt stop playing Twilight Princess and eventually beat Ganon.  I have to say, this was one of the best games I have ever played.

The game is so addicting and so much fun to play. I dont wanna bore you with too many details because I rather you play it for yourself but here is a few of my stats:

I got 58 of 60 Poe Souls, the Giant Quiver (100 arrows), Giant Wallet (1000 Rupies), 24 of 24 Golden Bugs, all 20 Full Heart Containers, Bigger Bomb Bag & I passed all 50 levels of the Cave of Ordeals.

I have written a small review of the game, please see the link below and let me know if you agree with it or not. I appreciate your opinions.

OK... so I'm about 40 hours into Twilight Princess...

I have to admit I'm impressed by the amount of thought that went into this game. The game has so many complex dungeons and areas to explore and even side missions to keep me busy for so many hours. It seems that hardly any items are "easy" to find because you need special items or have to go through mazes or puzzles just to get Rupies or a Heart Piece.  I am loving it!

I get tired very quickly from straight forward games so this game is a pleasure to play.  Don't get me wrong, when I say complex I dont mean overly difficult, I just mean you have to go through so much to get things done. There is some backtracking involved but since you can warp and use Epona its not as time consuming as you would think.

I just got into the City in the Sky last night and stopped playing. So far I was able to get all 24 Golden Bugs, which gave me the Large Wallet (1000 rupies), the Big Quiver (60 arrows), Bigger Bomb Bag, Magic Armor & 15 full heart containers. I also have collected 55 Poe Souls.

I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a LONG detailed game with a great storyline. I will udate everyone once I finish it.

Level 21 - Rescue Ranger - UPDATE!

Finally!!!  After months at Level 20 I have moved on and become a Rescue Ranger here at gamespot. I feel a sense of accomplishment.

Nothing really too much to report as I have been writing more blogs than usual recently but I will say my NES collection is now up to 231 different games. I havent had a chance to get any Next-Gen consoles (way overpriced) but I did get Zelda Twilight Princess for Gamecube and I am about 15 hours into it. so far, its AWESOME!!!

The Unions I am a part of have kinda died down some, but I hope that this new year coming will be different and more productive.  OK... thats it for now...

OH!! Before I forget... Please Please Please rate my reviews as I have done a lot of new reviews based on games I finished this year.  THANKS!!!

I got Zelda Twilight Princess for Gamecube!!!

I know that the big thing this year is getting the Next Generation game consoles PS3 and WII but for me to be able to get the new Zelda TP is HUGE!

I cant realy afford the new systems yet and cant even find them in stores yet. So I was searching for the Zelda GC version since it's release. I was told by 4 different Gamestop stores that they were sold out and that they are for RESERVE ONLY.  I was very dissapointed.

But.... while at Toys R Us, doin some X-Mas shopping I just happen to ask the girl behind the counter if Zelda for GC was gonna be available anytime soon. She says "Sure is Sir... I have some in stock now... would you like a copy?" I almost jumped over the counter to hug and kiss her. (Yes she happen to be attractive also)

So now I have my copy of Zelda TP and I also spent the extra money on the Collectors Edition Players Guide. The best gift I could have gotten, I got for myself!  LOL

Cheating is SO much more fun!

I have been playing games since games were invented and I usually try not to use any cheat codes unless I am totally stuck somewhere. I always felt smarter and held my head high whenever I spent the time and effort to beat a game without cheating. However, times have changed and games have gotten more difficult and more time consuming. I was still doing good on the cheating front because there really arent any cheat codes for the RPG games I play.

I started playing an old PS2 game called "The Suffering" which is a survival Horror type game. I checked online for cheat codes and found a ton of them. Now I have all the games weapons, maps and items and I can get full health at any time.  I have to admit that this makes the game so much more fun and also cuts down on "weapon/ammo searching" time spent while playing. Why cant all games have these codes!

Anyway, just thought I would share that little bit of info. I also own The Suffering: Ties that Bind and I checked that game for cheat codes also. Guess what.... they have them! So I will beat these two games next before starting Kingdom Hearts 2.

Mastering FFXII

Yeah well I recently had a lot of time on my hands and was able to use and abuse my copy of FFXII. I have to say that I am pretty sure I've mastered this game and I am only up to level 73 with my main character. (Other 5 characters 72,72,68,67 & 66) I believe its not just the level that makes you strong but which equipment you have equipped.

I completely filled out the License Board on all 6 characters so I can use any weapon and armor on any character. But I found out that using a one handed sword and shield is the best combo. There are a couple of  "improve shield block" lores that severly upgrade your blocking ability  If you have all the upgrades like I do, you can block almost all attacks.  Even with Bosses, my 3 main characters with shields constantly block most attacks, even magic! I do have 2 characters without shields (one is an archer and one has the strongest weapon in the game, the Zodiak Spear, which requiers 2 hands) Plus with the sword weapon your attacks are constantly strong. With other weapons such as Axes or Hammers the damage you give is always fluxuating (I actually had a level 70 character hit an enemy for 9 damage  9!!!)

Another thing are the Espers, the creatures you can summon. To me they are totally useless. Great to fight and some are a real challenge but for actual gameplay and even the rewards I feel they are not worth it. I was able to get all 13 Espers but I never use them and after fighting Zodiark for over and hour my reward was 2 teleport stones and 1 Serpantine loot.  Thats right, thats ALL I got for fighting this tough Esper for over and hour!

Anyway, I love this game though and I'm sorry to say but it's about that time I beat it and move on. I have been delaying fighting the last Boss in order to get all 13 Espers and optional bosses and even the Hunts. (I beat 42 out of 45 hunts so far) But it seems that the only remaining Bosses have millions of HP (Yes Millions!!  one has 50 million HP!!!) and it would take too long to build up to Level 99 and fight them. Maybe after I finish a couple of other games I have I can always return to FFXII and fully complete it.

Since I stopped playing Magna Carta Tears of Blood to play FFXII I might go back to finish that game or I might start Kingdom Hearts II next... only time will tell.

Final Fantasy XII & NES Quiz!!

I was able to get a hold of FFXII CE and have been playing it ever since. At first I was a little turned off by the real-time (sorta) battles but I am getting used to them. The graphics are amazing and so far the story is pretty good too. Loads of side-quests which I love.

Only thing I still dont like is the License system. You get LP for defeating enemies and you can use those points to activate the ability to use weapons, armour, magick, teckniks, just about everything. It's hard to explain but its not my favorite thing. I'm at level 23 right now.

Also, as a side note, I have created a small NES quiz in The NES Legion Union where you get points for answering a variety of questions. It would be cool if more people would play so I can create more and more questions. Some questions are easy for you NES newbies. I create 3-4 questions every weekend.

Try it out!!
