Hah I forgot to say that the point of my whole post was that unless dictated by your profession (in which case you will know which you need) its more about what you feel most comfortable with.

I would like to start of by saying that I think it is a matter of preference as to which you choose and both sides will argue to the death.

With that being said, the people saying "Macs are the best for everything but games" get real. As an engineer PC's are a must, as no one runs Solidworks, CAD, Spice, etc on an OSX based machine. Not even Apple runs those programs on macs and only do so on windows based machines.
