I recently read this in gamesindustry.biz and I think it's a good point regarding why it may not be the most useful idea:

Players may have preferred one period in WoW's history over another for a wide variety of reasons. But the #1 reason anyone uses a private server is that they want to avoid a monthly fee. #2 is that they've been banned from Blizzard servers and/or want to use cheats and have to go elsewhere for their fix.

Nothing that Blizzard does can address those two issues. Legacy servers would be a diversion, nothing more.

What a ridiculous statement. You don't care about any "artistic freedom". You are insulting those people precisely for using their own and for this not being exactly the way you like. How is this "freedom", more like YOUR personal freedom.

You should not talk about "Artistic Freedom" when you obviously don't have any idea of what it is.

And How is posting negative reviews "winning a battle"? Oh well, whatever...

If we talk about being egalitarian and against racism (all fine there), using a specific skin color as flagship is a mistake and points in the opposite direction.
In fact, it's happening already. For some people in some circles it seems that for being a White cisgender male I have less rights to talk about minorities and integration. I'm a immigrant; I'm living in foreigner country; I know about integration... but that doesn't matter, because I'm white.

Now what sense does that make?
