Well, I've tried removing the video cards, tried each one in each of PCI-E slots. I've removed the memory completely, tried each stick individually. Nothing even brings up the bios splash screen let alone anything else.

The problem started gradually- At first I had to boot twice in order for it to complete, later it would hang on the splash screen- then do a post bios screen. The thing I recalled last night after I posted was I got a BSOD on my second to last boot up & then the final time was just the boot windowa in safe mode screen.

Asus P5N72-T motherboard, q6600 processor, ect.... dual 8800 ultra vid cards running sli.

It was running perfectly until a couple of weeks ago. It started hanging up on boot up at the bios splash screen. It would also go to the post bios screen. Sometimes it wouldn't show anything on the screen and the monitor wouldn't even wake up. Some times it would boot normally. This evening it booted to the windows safe mode window (I am running vista 64bit) and I hit start normally. It then did nothing. The light on the monitor went to yellow, no attempt at anything.

I have pulled video cards, tried booting with one video card, reset the bios, pulled the bios battery, everything I know to do. It won't even go to bios- there are no beeps or anything like its trying to go to bios.

I haven't pulled the memory yet. Anyother ideas?

Yes, it's short, took me about 5 1/2 hours to complete. However, the campaign alone is worth $60. it may be short, it may not have the best graphics out there, but the story delivers and leaves me wanting more.Nibroc420

So, It's short, has bad graphics & leaves you wanting more AND worth 60 dollars???? LOL If it is leaving you wanting more then NO, it isn't worth 60 bucks for just the single player campaign.

What I miss is the old days. Look at what ID did with quake. They came out with the game and then had like four cheaperadd ons with new single player content. Now the game companies roll out an entirely new game instead of add-ons but it is effectively a continuation of their previous games. There was no reason for the COD series to be four or five full price separate games. It should have been a series of cheaper add-ons to the original. It sounds as if the new modern warfare is basically a new set of single player missions that will take the average player six or seven hours to complete- all for an amazingly low price of 60 dollars.

Get a better internet connection. biggest_loser

Why didn't I think of that?

In rural areas there are no "better" connections. Oh, & before you suggest I move to an urban cesspool or suburban **** not on my list of things I want to do. I love rural living more than I would like to play multi-player computer games. It's a shame game companies expect you to pay for something you aren't going to use.

.... by the time it makes it to the bargain bin, it still needs to get patched ( it's the same game ). Unless you get it through a decent download service.

no1alboogie

Yes it does & by that time the patch is AVAILABLE for download. Most new games have to be patched and you have to wait for them.

Unfortunatly some of us do not have access to an internet connection capable of playing games online. We are asked to pay 40,50 or even an astounding 60 DOLLARS for a game that will entertain us (hopefully) for six or seven hours. There is no option to purchase only the single player content so we don't buy at all. I usually wait until a game is in the bargin bin which isn't as bad as it sounds. Usually when a game is first released it has to be patched numerous times before it runs correctly. By the time it hits the bargin bin it is usually almost good.

I have dual 8800 ultra cards running in sli mode. I am running vista ultimate 64 bit and am using a viewsonic 28inch lcd display. The graphics are great in everything BUT games. COD 4, Crysis, world in conflict all have large horizontal lines flickering on the screen. I tried the Nvidia tweek guide and various other settings but I can't get a good display. Any ideas?
