Hey, I just purchased an ATI Radeon x1300, and after I hook everything up, upon turning on my system, my moniter isn't reading it, though when I plug my moniter back into my motherboard video, I get picture, despite the fact that I've disabled my onboard moniter.
I know the video card is running because I can feel the cooling fan's air blowing, so that couldn't be the problem.
I've also yet to install the drivers, since on the pamphlet, It seems I'd have to install the drivers while the card is plugged in, so I'm afraid installing drivers while my moniter is plugged into my motherboard will mess things up...or will it?
should I just go ahead and install the drivers from the CD?
btw, the new video card is AGP, and the one I just took out was PCI if that helps.
Is there a way to tell what kinda slots I have, without opening my PC, and looking manually? (I'm not really good at telling from just the look of the slot...)
