Didn't like Sweden. Playing as Prussia now!

Playing as Sweden now in Empire. Long campaign with darthmod on N/N.

Did the "Freaky Free Friday" thing where Steam gave me Left 4 Dead free for a day. I played it a bit (pretty hard, considering I am used to playing first person shooter type games on my xbox) and uploaded a few random screenshots.

Going to start a new campaign. I just didn't like my prussian/german campaign. I don't know who I'll play as now though. Thinking about Great Britain, Sweden, Dutch, or possibly Russia.

Change of plans. Since Austria still hates me, Poland is becoming too powerful, and the Prussian/German navy sucks, I've decided to abandon my idea of colonizing and conquer Europe instead. I declared war on Austria and easily took Vienna, which was vitrually undefended. Now Austria just has Hungary (only a few armed citizenry garrisoned), Croatia (full stack garrisoned), Lombardy (full stack garrisoned), and Transylvania (unknown garrison). I will probably attempt to keep my alliance with the Polish while I finish off Austria (will probably leave Italy alone for now and give Lombardy to Genoa or something...). Then I will invade the Polish Empire from the south (Hungary) and west (Brandenburg/Saxony) and work my way towards the Russian border. My ultimate goal is completely destroying Poland and pushing my empire up to the Russian border and the Ottoman border. If I can't get that, I will aim to just take the Polish lands west of Warsaw (not including Warsaw, including East Prussia) with East Prussia as my goal.

At the moment the Dutch have taken over France (France is gone completely). Portugal got destroyed by Spain. The Ottomans and Russians have stayed put pretty much. The Swedish lost St. Petersburg, but still have Finland, Sweden, and Norway. Poland has everything between Germany, Russia, and the Ottomans (besides the last few Austrian cities). I have strong alliances with Britain and the Dutch. I am also a strong ally of Denmark, and I regularly send it military tech so it can fend off Sweden (if Sweden can't conquer Denmark, then Sweden can't invade Germany). The Polish are a fairly strong ally. The Ottomans are friendly but not allied. The Russians don't care about me.

I've started my new Prussian/German campaign (long campaign). I'm using Darthmod on H/H difficulty.

First thing I did was trade East Prussia to Poland in return for an alliance and trade agreement. I figured since Austria and France would hate me later it would be good to have a strong Eastern European ally.

For the first 15 years of my campaign, I was in all out war. Under a 3 star absolute monarch (can't remember his name), I poured all of my resources into warfare. My aim was to conquer all the German cities. My standing army (full stack) conquered every German city state by 1713. Most were crushed within a few turns, but Wurttemburg was suprising tough. After taking Munich (which brought Austria against me), My already battered army was relentlessly attacked by a Wurttemburg full stack (4 times) and an Austrian half stack (2 or 3 times). On the 4th attack, Wurttemburg captured Munich from my army (that had gone from about 2,000 men to 300). I formed a new army and attacked them, this time taking Munich and Wurttemburg in 3 turns (their army had been battered a lot too).

After the Prussian monarch conquered Germany, everything descended into chaos. Austria raided my resources over and over again, and the lower classes were outraged at new taxes to repay my war debts. This eventually turned into a revolution. A revolutionary army took Berlin in less than a year and Germany entered a new era as a republic. The new republic was named Germany and the colors of the nation were changed from blue to black.

The new leader, the Kaiser, was not great (2 stars), but with his leadership I stabilized its economy and improved basic infrastructure. Many outdated dirt roads were replaced with cobblestone roads. I signed peace treaties with Spain and Austria. With no more constant nearby wars (only Sweden is at war with me now), I was able to consolidate my army so that I had some militia in each city and disbanded most of my professional army, except for some of the most experienced units, which were garrisoned in cities that would be in danger if Austria violates the peace treaty.

Even though the new Kaiser stabilized Germany after the long wars and neglected infrastructure of the Prussian era, the government was still unpopular because there was very little technology being researched. I had fallen way behind in the technology race. After elections in the early 1720s, A new administration came in under the leadership of Kaiser Joachim Friedrich Mendelssohn (4 stars). All my minsters were now also 4 stars or higher. With a new solid government (95% popularity as well), a somewhat Industrial Revolution began in Germany. I researched many new techs and improved my farms, mining, and workshops tremendously. Also, new cultural buildings appeared in my major cities (Berlin, Dresden, and Munich).

Now, it is 1729. I am catching up fast in the technology race. I have many industrial techs and I am starting to research naval techs as well. Denmark is my ally and I am helping them as much as I can to fend off Sweden, because Sweden would be free to invade Germany shoud they take Copenhagen. I will need a good navy to harass Sweden and get some sea trade going, as mining and taxes won't support all of my ambitions. With a strong navy, I plan to start some colonies in America or India.

I fixed the crashing problem. Now I am using DarthMod and a bunch of other minor mods and they're all working. Also I'm working on changing the faction colors of the Prussian Republic so everything changes from Prussian blue to black when Prussia becomes a republic (Yay, custom units with extensive retexturing not needed!) :D

After I get the faction color thing worked out I'm gonna start a new campaign as Prussia and create a Prussian-German Republic with a unified Germany.

Somehow I screwed up my empire game files (probably when I started trying to mod and I didn't know how to do anything) and Empire crashes every time I start it. I made copies of all my mods and saved games in a desktop folder and then reinstalled empire. Hopefully that will fix it...

Also my Scottish Line mod might not work cause the animations and models of line infantry and highlanders may be incompatable or something.

I'm asking on twcenter's forums about changing a faction's name and color. If it's possible, I would like to make it so that when Prussia has a revolution and changes to the republic (with the German flag), the name "Prussia" will change to "Germany" and the faction color will change to black.

Starting a new campaign for empire. My british one got corrupted or something because the game crashes when I try to load it. Going to play as either Prussia or Sweden...
