New PC Spec's
by WhiteCloud954 on Comments
So finally the cards fall in my favor for a change. I was able to sell my current Pc to my friends mom for $300 without a monitor. It originally cost me about $600 to build it more than a year ago so I'd say that worked out quite well. I'm putting that $300 towards a new Pc. :)
AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz Dual Core Processor
4GB DDR2 800 SDRAM
GeForce 8800GT 512MB
Thats pretty much the jist of it. Combine that with a 160GB hard drive, a 600W power supply, 64 bit version of Vista for DX 10 and 4+ Gigs of Ram, and this case.
All in all with shipping included it cost me around $800. Minus $300 from selling my old PC I'd say I did alright. Well see how things go and hopefully this build will go just as good as the first.
PS............Had to throw Age of Conan into the cart lol.
Florida SuperCon (Pic's Included)
by WhiteCloud954 on Comments
So last Saturday me and Lisa went to the Florida Supercon. For those of you who dont know it a convention with anime, games, superheros, ect. All that good stuff. It's were nerds get a reason to dress up as their favorite character from anything and have fun, and that's what it was, a lot of fun. There was plenty of merchandise to browse. Plenty of artists drawing superheros and anime characters and there was even a sword fighting ring. Wooden swords of course. I came really close to buy a bada$$ Vincent Valentine action figure (doll LOLZ!), but something stopped me. I think the face looked a little off and I knew it would bother me in the future.
There's always one Pac Man...
This was only $35, I have never wanted to impulsively buy something more in my life. I didn't but I am regretting it...
Lisa was Poison Ivy and I was Two-Face. (We love Batman if you were wondering)
So yeah, it was all good fun, I thought there could have been more attractions and less stuff to buy, but all in all it was worth it just for the sake of dressing up :) Me and Lisa are happier than ever and everything is going great. One year anniversary is coming up. Most guys dread it because they don't wan't to have to think of what to get, but I like the challenge. I'm not really in the typing mood as you can see by my lack of effort so I guess expect something later maybe....in a different form of communication...with vocals......and a camera........I said maybe right.....
Christmas was good to me.

So I figured I would just briefly tell you guys what I got for Christmas.
Mom= nothing (yay! 2 years in a row, way to go mom.)
Dad= nothing (not even a phone call.....nice one)
brothers and sisters= nothing yet (although they told me to expect something in the mail.)
friends= Wireless keyboard and mouse, new speakers, and some clothes.
Girlfriend= Hat, hoodie, book, dilbert mousepad lolz, and HEAVENLY SWORD!!! (gotta love lisa, came through big time on christmas)
And my gift to myself= Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar (i treated myself nicely)
So all in all christmas was good. Heavenly Sword is an awesome game. She suprised the hell out of me with that. Wasn't expecting her to drop $60 on a ps3 game but i really really appreciate it. Love my new guitar and glad i bought it, was totally worth it. Thats all, boring ass post but I figured this might peak someones curiosity. Have a good new years, and stay safe.
To leave or not to leave....that is the question.

So with Jeff's exit I have noticed almost everyone is migrating to other gaming sites like gametrailers. With that said I would just like to inform the few that track my rare blogs that I wont be going nowhere. My entire life I have been given the option to run from my problems, although it may not always be easy its best to persevere through you problems than to seek alternative routes. Gamespot is hurt but it wont die unless you let it. This is a time when we need to rejoice and come together to hold the integrity of the site. When you leave, all your doing is not only accepting defeat, but aiding it. I'm not going anywhere, and if you care about any of the contributions you have made to this site, than you shouldn't either. The community of gamespot is what really makes this site special. When you take away the reviews, previews, news updates, ect. the community is the foundation of this sites fanfare. Leave now and watch that foundation crumble.
end note.

I'm a little confused here......
A lot has happened
by WhiteCloud954 on Comments
oh yes, oh yes
I finished Bioshock!........yes, I am way late to the party. Overslept for school the other day and just decided I wasn't going to go and used my free time to sit down and finally finish that masterpiece. Bioshock was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was engaging and weighed you down, and you really felt like "Wow! This place is ****ed up!" In the end, I loved the gameplay, loved the story, hated both endings. I really was let down. After playing so much and putting so much thought into what I should do with the little sisters, it all led up to a 2 min cinematic that didn't really satisfy me. Great game overall. Game of the year? No, but great nonetheless.
Hey, so besides Bioshock what else? I have been working less by choice. Gamestop really is an evil empire and lets just say my boss gives me sh!t because I refuse to be a persuasive **** when I work. I like to help people and I always have the customers best interest when I'm working. But no, thats not how it works at Gamestop. Your trained to push and persuade people into doing reserves and magazine subscriptions they often don't feel comfortable doing. There comes a time when I have to balance whats right. My close to minimum wage salary or my pride and ethics. My moral code means a lot more to me than helping a company rake in more unneeded profit at the disposal of good people. So I have requested more days off and I'm enjoying the free time.
So besides work what else? Well, actually something really big happened to me. Actually "catastrophic" big. About a month ago, my girlfriend Lisa......(I don't really know how to put this so I'm just gonna say it.) she proposed to me. Yeah.....I know that sounds crazy, usually thats my job right, but I guess I really shouldn't expect something ordinary from such a special relationship we have. I really don't want to try to get to sappy on you guys. Before it happened we talked a lot about how we both wanted things to be more definite and official between us. We have this level of comfortability between us where there really isn't anything I wouldn't say to her and vice versa. It was the foundation on which our relationship was built, honesty. When I first met her I told her on the first day that I have a really good feeling of trust with her and I don't know why but its gonna stay strong unless you decide to break my trust. That was the first moment I met her. I would have never imagined on that day that I would be engaged to her one day. Meeting Lisa was the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I figured that I at least owe it to you guys to know I'm engaged cause that really is pretty big news and goes way beyond just a the world of videogames. Which is my bad because this is a site about games, I should talk about games, but this place seems more like a community, so i feel comfortable talking, plus who ever wants restrictions on what they can write about?
That about sums it up I guess, I'm gonna try to get more involved now that I have more time off. I hope everyone here is doing good and best wishes to you guys.
And yes if you guys are saying to yourselves "she probably a cow", heres a picture lol.
Hello, My name is Steven.
by WhiteCloud954 on Comments
Hi! I'm Steven. Nice to meet you.
So as the weeks go by, and more and more games come out, I realized something. Everything I heard about last year (like Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, ect.) I didn't buy. Why is that? Maybe I have come to terms with myself that a video-game isn't worth $60 to me anymore. I love video-games. I really do. I think it is really the most interesting form of entertainment, but at $60 a pop, I don't think its worth it unless I can get some serious replay value. I realized there is so much more in life that isn't $60 and still entertains to say the least. Is it the quality of games? I think maybe I just want something new that hasn't been done. I will buy Halo 3, but do I expect to thoroughly enjoy it? Doubt it.
My life has been an emotional rollercoaster in the past week and things got to a point where playing video-games wasn't going to do a damn thing to help. Kinda gives me a new perspective on what really is important in my life. I guess we are all just simply in the pursuit of happiness, however we may get there. This is your only chance on the earth so "seize the day" so to speak. If you ask me how things are going now, I'd tell you I'm on top of the world. For many reasons I consider myself ridiculously lucky, but I have realized that just as quick as you gain fortune, it can be taken away. I guess the right thing is to be appreciative for whatever luxuries you have in life. School is easy this year for me, my job is going great, my girlfriend is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, I'm on good terms with my family and friends, and for once in my life I have some sort of tranquility.
Thanks for reading,
Steven
