Likewise, I get 12-14 out of mine. Turn your backlight off after 5 seconds, and turn wireless off. Saves a ton of power.

Also you can turn your brightness down. The equalizer also takes up power, so you can turn that off but I like to leave mine on 'Rock.' 

why the heck would the equalizer take up power?

I mean jeez, its horrible! I fully charge it, then I listen for about an hour, and its has a 3rd of battery power left! THis sucks!
