Keep smoking weed around it and wait until the resin builds up inside, it will make for a nice bong rip. Why do you think they call it high definition?

In an effort to learn some technical aspects of the PS3, I have been doing some experimenting with working and no working PS3s..

I came across something that was interesting.

I had a working system built up with a motherboard from a working PS3 and a BluRay drive from another PS3 where the motherboard was bad. The system would boot up, but would not play any downloaded Demos, nor would it recognize any DVDs or Game disks put in the BluRay drive.. I tried a second BluRay drive with the same results. It's possible, but unlikely that both drives are bad..

So, I put the BluRay Drive back on that was assosciated with the working MB and viola'.. Everything was good and right with the world and peace descended from the heavens.. Well, no... Not really. But my PS3 was fully functional..

So, this leads me to one inescapable conclusion. That the BluRay drive is keyed to the motherboard.

Can anyone confim this?

Thanx

The blu ray drive itself isn't keyed into the PS3 but the power board on the blu ray drive is, that's why if you were replacing it you keep the original drive power board and you can install the working drive and laser.

1) is this a PS3 game?

2) are they serious about the graphics?

3) no, no,,,,,really? r they serious about these graphics,,,THEY LOOK WORSE THAN THE FIRST RESSITANCE

4) is there like some sort of setting to change the graphics, to make them higher quality?

yes people im playing on a full HD 1080p samsung tv

tell me if u want a picture,, ill take one

oh and 1 more thing, in the first cut scene, the helicopter landed on ice,,,why? lol CUMON....

very dissapointed

This game does not run in full 1080p, I also tried running it in 1080p and it looks awful I think its just up scaling from 720p so the textures look jaggy and washed out . Put it in 720p and you will see the difference, This game looks excellent in 720p

Don't want to sound like a stereo type but its got to be Call Of Duty 4. Metal Gear Online is really good aswell.

I know it's not on PS3 but I used to be addicted to Call Of Duty 1 and Call Of Duty United Offensive on the PC.

What are your favorites?.

halo 2 still takes the cake. COD: WAW and resistance 2 are the best I have seen this gen though

I don't think so, unless you want your console to overheat like mad. The PS3 is fine the way it is.Furi-Kun
Exactly, it looks nice and it has excellent ventilation to keep it cool. I don't know anything about the PS3 slim all I can say is it's most likely years away and by that time the regular PS3's will be much less expensive. At that time I would really see no point in buying a slim because like the PS2 and PSX the slim model was more expensive, and with the PS3 already looking sleek, I see no reason in waiting for this model to come out.

I recently hooked up my PS3 to my LCD and have found that during games where the brightness or darkness levels are changing the LCD looks like it is trying to adjust itself and it constantly is getting darker then brighter again. Anyone might know of this problem I am having, I changed a few settings on my monitor and PS3 so could anyone point me to the setting that I could change to fix this issue?

[QUOTE="skullgangs"][QUOTE="taplok"]do you like FPS games? if you do... give R2 a chance... you'll be renting it anyway...polishkid99
lol all I play is fps and ps3 sucks with fps.

ps3 is awesome with fps games imo the controls feel really good

Me too, I think the PS3 is the best way to play fps's
