Holy crap!! E3 starts tomorrow!

It wasn't until I woke up this morning that I realized that E3 08 was REALLY starting tomorrow, and already people are definitely feeling its effects everywhere. As for me there are games both old and new that keep on piling up that either need to be finished or started, or re-refinished.

E3 as always, makes me feel like a kid in a candy store and this year will be no exception to that rule. With so many games on the horizon and especially one that has peaked my interest recently...Fallout 3. As one of the two people on earth who have not played this game's past iterations it seems very appealing to me to want to know exactly what all of the petitions and the crazy talk is all about. But anyway that's just one of the things that's got me riled up for this year. As usual always wish I could have been to the past E3's when the public was invited but LA is a really long way from Montreal...and money wise the funds don't allow me.

So here are my top ten most anticipated games for E3 08:

10 - Fallout 3

Simply because I know little to nothing about the series.

9 - Fables 2

Not having played the first...I think the dog has me sold.

8 - Little Big Planet

oooooo sombreros.

7 - Mirror's Edge

If this game uses anything like the art in the latest trailer then this could prove to be something very interesting and unique.

6 - Mercenaries 2: World in Flames

I just can't friggin wait for this game...the first one was AWESOME!

5 - Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II

The greatest RTS game that I've ever played.

4 - Tom Clancy's EndWar

I've always wanted to play Risk heheheh....

3 - Spore

I can't even remember why I'm this excited for this game anymore....but HELL YEA!!

2 - Chrono Trigger DS

Finally! Nintendo doing something else than milking the same franchises to death.

1 - Too Human

Diablo on crack! I've been getting riled up for this one since this dude at my job couldn't stop talking about it. But after seeing its track record (apparently this was supposed to be released on the PS1 at one point) I'm not getting eliminating the possibility that this game might be pushed back. But this game looks like it's going to be incredible and I hope that there ARE going to be other environments other than the same dark cave like place that I've seen in every gameplay trailer that they've cranked out.

So yeah, E3 is coming and by the time you read this, it's probably going to be 2 in the morning...

Keeping busy in NYC!

FINALLY on vacation...and in no better place than New York city. Its been about 5 years since I last took a real vacation so this is definitly deserved. Even on vacation I can't not play video games...just before I left MTL I picked up Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP. And I have to say this game is addictive...it was the only thing that made the bus ride down not noticable. The ride took an incredible 11 hours! Usually this ride would take at most 8 hours, but for some reason it seemed that the driver kept getting lost on the highway. Every sign that pointed towards NYC the dude took the opposite direction. Maybe it was the route that he was to take but to steer away from the city at least three times, I highly dought that he was on his regular route. But anyways...look for a lengthy post about my time with MGS4 and the hell that I went through to get the PS3 bundle just for the game. Review for MGS4 coming in the next three weeks so look for that as well.

Lol...

...I just remebered that I own Burnout Paradise...8)

What happened when I got the Orange Box

Just about two days after The Orange Box was released, I came in to work to find the copy that I ordered sitting promptly at my desk. Completely overjoyed because it was not only the most anticipated game that month but no one at work could wait to get home and play it. Half-Life 2(which will now be referred to as HL, for the purposes of less typing), hailed as one the greatest games ever made was now in my possession, along with four other titles: Team Fortress 2, HL2 EP: 1 and 2, and one of the most original games I've come to enjoy: Portal. Bu t with all that aside, my true joy that night came when I got back home. I quickly turned on my PC and installed the game, I didn't change or do anything else because I was so excited and couldn't wait to tear into this thing any longer. My mother was all on my case because I didn't do the things that I would normally do when I got home, and I knew that, I just didn't care because I had to play these games. Finally the games were installed, my mother went to bed, my headphones were on and the night passed all too quickly for me.

I started off by playing Team Fortress 2, clamoring to know how good it was not having played the first one. Instead of playing it for a few hours like I had originally planned, I ended up playing for the whole night. The first few games were really weird because no one else was in the same server as I was. I ended up being the only player for the first 5 matches that I picked out. Then on the sixth game, things finally picked up and it was then that I realized just how terrible I was at online shooters. I had a good run once as a sniper but after my team won the game that luck quickly ran out. I got addicted to it quickly even thought I was getting killed every time that I would re-spawn. The night went by so fast that the next thing I knew was that I had my father yelling at me because he found me asleep at my desk with the game still running. It appears that I ended up crashing while I was playing, and woke up only to find one of the longest strands of drool leading from my mouth to a magazine that was sitting on my desk.

Amidst all of the impending chaos of my parents freaking out because they never heard of such a thing being done and getting the whole lecture about how sleep is good for you, that was exactly what I had done…I went to sleep with a very hungry stomach but I didn't care. I woke up lateamr at around 4 and immediately said to myself that I had officially screwed up my biological clock. I knew deep down that it was cursing me in some of the worst ways possible; it was so confused the only thing that I could compare it to was taking a bunch of blind people to go see David Copperfield. Once again the night came and I did the exact same thing all over again, except this time I kept the notion that I had to show up at work on Sunday at 8 in the morning. It was indeed a weekend to remember and I know that I will never ever pull an all nighter again for a videogame unless it's really, really good.

XBOX Live Outage

So with XBOX live out of order, I cant play my games online anymore. I've read all of the stories, and I just wanted to know if the service still hasn't come back yet. I still can't sign in to my account, and i was guessing that with the whole, Microsoft apologizing by giving everyone 1 free XBLA game it would have been back in service...but that doesn't appear to be the case. If anyone who reads this can tell me more I would appreciate it.

Assassin's Creed - Hands On...A look back...

After playing through more of Assassin's Creed...I quickly realized that there was nothing that special about it. The game certainly LOOKS good, and has a solid combat system, but when I went on to say in a previous post: "...if any of your friends tell you that you should rent it or skip then please slap them...real hard on my behalf. This game is easily one of the best games I've played recently..." I think that I'm the one who should be slapped. Nothing could have been further from the truth...it's a very basic game...and if there is anything that stands out about it, is its HORRIBLE REPITITION!! If you just got this game and played through the first assassination...well then you've pretty much played the whole damn game. The only thing that is different from each mission is the person you must kill and the city...other than that Assassin's Creed is nothing more than a broken record. I'll be posting a review sometime in early January...until then happy whatever you celebrate.

Taking a break...

With all that's happening in my life right now it's a wonder that I still have time to play video games. When I do I just don't feel like playing them much...I guess this comes as a result of testing them or maybe it's just me. But either or, I'll be taking a break from all this stuff until I finally get my HD TV so I can get my 360 off of my PC monitor and unite all of my consoles to the other side of my room. I still have Call of Duty 4 and Mass Effect sealed in the plastic...I still haven't opened those up yet. School has exausted me, work is starting to pick up at the office...and I still don't have an HDTV!!!! As it turns out my promise to get it by the end of 2007, damn christmas and having to get stuff for other people...making me spend my money!!:( But its all good, I know that since I'm working full time over the holidays the pay checks will only be a lot bigger. Only time will tell...look for my Bioshock Review to be up later today.

Hey, where did all the money go? ...Oh wait that's where...

Here's but a sample of what I got so far with the madness that is "The best year for video games."

Street fighter I've been looking for that game for a long time and I finally found one at a Game buzz near my job...brand new and still sealed!!!!!

Reviews for GH3, Assassin's Creed, and Bioshock coming before the end of the 2007.
