Honestly, there is no reason why anyone who creates art in any of its forms should follow or be subjugated to the opinions of others. Everyone can choose what they want to create and share and conversely everyone has the right to choose what they want to see. We as sentient beings can chose to think and speak whatever we want, but we cannot and should not impose our individual ideas on others. For all creators, consumers, and observers, the world is whatever you want it or perceive it to be and your view is no better or worse than anyone else's.

This is why you can choose NOT to use the TV or Kinect (voice control) both of which are options that have been confirmed by Microsoft. If you want to just play game, then just play games.

Anyone else notice how the consoles are practically identical? Hating a company for their attitude should not include hating their product that is essentially the same as their competitor's.
