The more complicated and weaker your console is, the less resources you devote for things like gameplay, story, and other non-graphical features.

Remedy is probably using 99% of their time and budget for trying to get their resolution to at least 720p. They'll probably go multiplat and abandon Microsoft once they find out they can make much better-looking games and much better games overall by going PS4 exclusive at half of amount of money and time they spent on Xbone. lol...

After the massive downgrades the Xbone launch games received from the original E3 unveiling, there is no way I'm going to believe trailers for yet-to-release xbone games will look like they do as shown.

Microsoft will continue to use pre-rendered footage and GTX 790s PCs in order to "compete" with SONY's real-time, in-game footage.

The PS4 version looks sharper than the PC version... LOL...

Guess your GTX 780s had to make some concessions to run at 60 FPS... LOL...

This isnt even trying, this is sad.

Wow, you hermits have gotten so arrogant that you're taking better-looking games as granted. Just look at the PS4 and PC pictures in the pic I posted. The mast on the PS4 version is clearly sharper than the PC version mast.

what?

I literally felt my IQ drop reading this post.

Apparently you lack the keen eyes to notice subtle differences between 2 similar-looking images.

Look at the picture in my first post in this thread. Look at the mast on the ship, not the nets. The PS4 version looks sharper and more detailed while the PC version looks slightly blurrier. It's possible that running the game 60 FPS on a high-end PC required some concessions on the visuals. Not saying that the PS4 is stronger than the strongest PCs, but the strongest PCs aren't strong enough to play PS4 games at 60 FPS while looking better or the same as PS4 games. This means that PS4 games will always look better than PC games because PC devs need to unlock their framerates while PS4 devs can focus on 30 FPS with max visual fidelity.

I guess if you ignore the part where DF says that PC is the better looking version

Since when do we need DF to say a PC version of a game is better?

The PC versions of games should ALWAYS look better at the top end because the only ceiling is the hardware a given gamer has available to him. There should be no delusions here about that, and nobody should need outside confirmation of that fact. More effects, more AA, higher framerates.

Again, the new consoles have brought a higher power ceiling to the market.

I'll give you an easy to understand analogy.

Suppose it takes power level 9000 to reach max graphics @ 60 FPS. 4500 of the total power is for 60 FPS while 4500 is for highest graphical settings at 1080p.

PS4's powerlevel is 8000. Since developers are locking the graphics at 30 FPS, PS4 only uses 2250 of its maximum powerlevel for the FPS, which leaves 5750 for the graphics while the PC is only left with 4500. That makes PS4 games look better than PC games.

Except the PC version has everything the PS4 version does but it has more graphics effects.

Except it looks blurrier. Jesus, just look at the first picture. Look at the fucking mast. Are you too scared to admit that a $400 machine produces better looking visuals than your $8,000 rig?

I have eyes. I don't need DF to tell me that the PS4 version destroys the Xboner version. I can clearly see it. In the same way, it is clear to me in the direct-feed screenies that the PS4 version is sharper than the PC version.

As biased as DF is to the Xbone, DF has to maintain some level of objectivity to ensure that people keep coming back to their site. Saying the Xbone version is better than the PS4 version would have immediately lost them their readers' faith, since the PS4 version is so blatantly superior that there's no way anyone would believe DF had they said the Xbone has the definitive console verison.

The differences between the PS4 and PC version are far more subtle, so claiming that the PC version was on top wouldn't have been controversial. After all, everyone knows that PC versions are usually the best in graphics. At the same time, DF succeeded in downplaying the PS4. Just imagine the shitstorm that would ensue if people found out the PS4 version was better than the PC version. No, DF can't have that, can they? That would destroy whatever little sales the Xbone is currently receiving.

So...playstation fanboys are back to using DF after they go upset about them "flubbing" the BF4 comparison?

Use logic, young lemming.

If even the extremely Xbone bias DF is saying the PS4 version is massively superior and the definitive version, just how bad must the Xbone version be?

I love it when cows use the word "massively". It instantly means that I am dealing with a 14 year old. That aside, read the last two paragraphs, young man. How can one version be "massively better" when the DF writer says they look about the same?

LOL! Cows. Or in your case... LOL! Calves...

"That said, it's instantly obvious that the same level of image quality isn't present on the Xbox One release, which looks visibly worse in comparison to the unpatched 900p PS4 game."

Read your own article. You can't escape the fact that in the end, the author says they look about the same. Does the PS4 version look better under a microscope? Apparently so. Is it "OMG massive", like you say? Nope.

"About the same" and "Visibly worse" mean 2 separate things.

The first phrase is subjective while the 2nd phrase is objective. I agree that overall, the Xbone looks "about the same" as the PS4 and PC version. Doesn't change the fact that it's massively inferior to both and the inferior graphics is clearly visible.

FFXIII on the 360 was "about the same" as the PS3 version, but it was still massively inferior.

HA HA HA HA!!! WTF??? How can something be "about the same" as something else, yet one be "massively" superior to the other at the same time?

Do you know the definition of "massively"?

That's a subjective term. To most people, just being noticeably better than the Xbone is enough to make it "massive". Now go enjoy your blurry sub-1080p games.

PS4 and PC look identical, and that is a top tier PC even, most of the Hermits don't own one of those

I think the PS4 version edges out the PC version by a hair.
