They probably still haven't tapped DX9 fully and they are moving on to DX10. DX9 still looks awesome, like Unreal 3 engine for example.

Can it handle it? Yes. But on low settings. Like everyone says your video card is the only thing bottlenecking your system and bringing it down. That's the trick most manufacturers use, everything looks great in the system, but except they pair up a system with a weak video card. That's the only thing you are missing out on.

well im actually planning on getting the 8600GT 512MB or Ultra whatever its gonna be called. I was just wandering if it would fit in my pc, i have a spare slot at the back of my case but im getting a soundcard so i dont want a massive graphics card. Chris_53
The 8600GT will definately fit, the mid-range line of cards were never really huge, and probably won't require an extra power connector to connect to your PSU because it consumes less power.

I had a problem fitting in a 7900GT KO due to the northbridge hsf getting in the way. Make sure it has enough space. I had it RMA'd like a few weeks ago because mine was one of the batch of faulty cards of the series and will receive a 7900GTO tomorrow, same size of the 7900GTX with the 85mm fan but runs at lower memory clocks, but it can be flashed to a GTX.

If you haven't read about this I suggest you do:

I've been looking for a new gaming monitor myself and have come across the Samsung 206BW.
What do you think? Seems pretty good to me.RazorGR

Is that one of Samsung's new models? I'm wondering if they have a 22" version of it. EDIT: Yeah, they do. Samsung 226BW. They don't have it on Newegg but I found it at Circuit City, and it's at a good deal. http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=170984&WT.mc_n=92&WT.mc_t=U&cm_ven=COMPARISON%20SHOPPING&cm_cat=NEXTAG&cm_pla=DATAFEED-%3EPRODUCTS&cm_ite=1%20PRODUCT&cm_keycode=92 You can get the 206BW for $279.99 after $30 mail-in rebates + 3 Business Day Shipping costs $13.97 @ Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001095

I had problems with original AVP on XP as well. But mine actually started the setup.exe, do you have service pack 2? That might make it worse. I don't recall having SP2 on XP when I installed AVP a few years ago. But anyways, I have another suggestion for you. Have the disc inserted into your drive, go to my computer, and your default disc drive, usually ( D: ) where your game is inserted, right-click on it and click explore, which will get into the files of the CD and find setup somewhere on there and run it from there and it should work. Good luck. :)

I was looking into some 22" monitors I might be buying.

SAMSUNG 225BW Black 22" 5 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor:

ASUS MW221U Black-Silver 22" 2ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824236011

SCEPTRE x22wg-Gamer Black 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen HDMI LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1200:1 Built in Speakers:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824112005

LG L226WTX-BF Black 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 3000:1:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824005088

I'm aware of the backlight bleeding problem the new models might have. The ASUS is tempting because of it's low response time (2ms) than the Samsung (5ms), but it shouldn't be too much of a difference. The LG however has a high constract ratio of 3000:1 that others don't have, so it's hard to decide, and the SPECTRE monitor (a brand I haven't heard of before) sports an HDMI port. The monitors have a recommended resolution of 1680 x 1050 and I'm hoping it will be fine for games, and that my card 7900GT supports it, because I've seen some video cards don't, and support only specific resolutions.

[QUOTE="xAbre122"]I let my friend borrow my copy of counter strike source and he got me banned from many of the servers I play on. I told the admin what happend but them being only stupid 12 yr olds didnt care about my request. Since I am guessing what they do is put mi steam id on a banned list, is there any way I am able to hide my steam id?tenaka2
If your 'Friend' got banned there is nothing you can do, if your 'Friend' used hacks you may have a perm ban on all secure servers. Its amazing how many 'Friends', 'Brothers' or 'Guy who stole my account' kind of people there are out there!!

You forgot about grandma too.
