It had an awesome feel, but looking back, the character growth was lacking.

This is just to satisfy my curiosity, but what games on the PS1 appealed to the same audience that Nintendo is currently trying to draw? (i.e. What game matched WiiFit?)Tungsten88

When I was 12 or so and the PS1 was out and about, I felt Parappa the Rapper was trying to rope in people who didn't play games.

pokemon casual. animal crossing in the middle. and Kirby game sounds better than generic kirby game. also id argue the mario sports games are casual. mario kart can stay even though it has huge casual appeal.jg4xchamp

Hey pal, Pokemon is far far from casual. When people make spreadsheets and huge databases to track progress, a game is not casual.

I can't believe Nintendo ever got criticized for "holding back units" or whatever, when Sony can use straight bait and switch on us like that. Such BS. Over the last two years, they have disgusted me.

But its still a price drop. You're getting the 600 PS3 for 500.

Or for 600 you can get a game and 20gigs.

Either way the 60gb is less then 600.

Bread_or_Decide

Well according to the original report, this is more of a clearance sale, and you won't be able to get the PS3 for 500 after they run out of 60GB's. Which I'm displeased by, because I want to buy one sometime next year for 500, when there are games I want on store shelves.

Didja not read? I said I want a PS3 ***next year***, not now.

they both Got smaller, lighter, brighter, prettier, less load times and better battery life.flashattackfina

Yeah, but the problem with the PSP wasn't limited to design, the system has other problems, and this redesign doesn't address those.

And Kaz Hirai has already stated that there is only going to be one PS3 SKU - $600. What's your point?

Like the Kotaku guy said, who knows what is really going on. Sony is run by morons, you're right, because they can't even get us a straight answer on something so critical as pricing.
