I think it has some potential. The cast looks very good. Richard Jenkins is a fantastic actor, and I like Kodi smit-Mcphee, and Chloe Moretz. My worry with the remake is the director Matt Reeves. I thought Cloverfield was mediocre and he doesn't seem to be very good with characters. I may be wrong though I wish they choose a more experienced and better director like Terry Gilliam, Ang Lee, Jean Pierre Jeunet, Michael Haneke, John Hillcoat, Richard Linklater, Guillermo Del toro, Mike Leigh, Sam Mendes, or Paul Thomas Anderson. All those guys would have been better choices. I won't judge the remake yet, but I love the original film and book so I am very skeptical.

I thought the Let the Right One In was similar(in a good way) to Pan's Labyrinth, too bad he isn't directing the remake.
Pan's labrynth was in spanish and subtitled so..wouldnt the director be spanish? If they are aiming for an english version I dunno if they'd use him.
