Interesting thread. I own the WiiU and don't plan on selling it any time soon. I can understand why some people would do this seeing as how PS4 and XBone are launching soon and Nintendo's promise of 3rd party support has somewhat been terrible. Even excellent games like ZombiU aren't getting a sequel because enough copies weren't sold and first party games are few and far between. I'm excited for Pikmin 3 next month, Smash Bros. and Zelda. I would be very happy with just owning a 3DS and it's excellent library of games, but I do like playing Monster Hunter on the gamepad on WiiU.afterworldOh man that is one thing I really enjoyed about the Wii U is the off t.v. play! It displayed a nice picture and the tablet in general wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. I too also really enjoyed MH3U online and on the gamepad but I kind of out played it and now I cant wait for MH4 with all the new weapons and monsters! Pikmin looked pretty cool too but I really dislike that it has no online co-op =/... I've become a multiplayer only gamer, over the years lol
I agree with you 100%. After just selling it though, I for sure wont buy one until there is a price drop, bundle package or some bigger games announced. I also feel the same way as you but for mari kart 8 lol.. and I don't really find the new mario to be interesting... I could be wrong though.I view the Wii U in similiar terms as the Wii; the system itself doesn't excite me a whole lot, but I have no problem playing games on it if they're of good quality. The 3DS has an amazing lineup of games, both current and upcoming. Between it and my PC, I have more than enough time-consuming games to purchase right now. With the Wii U, there just isn't enough to warrant getting one (for me personally) right now.
I'll probably take the plunge with the Wii U within a year or two when some more core games are released and when there'll likely be more bundle/combo deals for new systems. The main reason I purchase a console is for the exclusive games and Nintendo is usually spot-on with offering a lot of worthwhile exclusive content in the long-term. They're just not here yet. "X" does have me very excited though and has me almost tempted to purchase a console earlier than planned purely to enjoy it at launch.
I can pretty much guarentee the Wii U will be a decent system for people who are already fans of Nintendo's content, it's just a matter of waiting until they offer enough games that truly warrant the price tag.Â
