I'll be damned if i understand it either. Plain and simple fact is that PS3 hardware was built to last. Microsoft hardware is built to make a quick dollar, just like their piece of crap OS. There are only 2 360 exclusive titles that i really care about (Halo, Gears of War), but those games are not enough to make me buy a console that will fail enventually, if not in the first two weeks. It's pretty bad when u have two Microsoft representatives quoted as saying "It's not if your hardware will fail, but when." Literally every person i know that has a 360 has had the 3RROD error AT LEAST once! And if you don't get that error, than your dvd drive will stratch the ever-loving-hell out of your $60 games. Guess what folks, PS3 doesn't do any of that.
The only reason that there are less games for PS3 is that most game developers have the same mindset as Microsoft. Hey, let's make a game and make money and to hell with the fans! And the developers that are making games for PS3 just haven't figured out how to use blu-ray to their advantage yet. But i feel confident that they will very soon.
Simple fact is the 360 is holding back the PS3. Think about it, the developers that make games for all platforms have to limit the potential of the game just so it will play on the inferior hardware of the 360. They also have to limit the game's potential just so it will fit on a dvd. The entire reason that sony uses blu-ray is so the games will literally be 5 times better than a dvd game (blu-ray holds 5 times as much information as a dvd). But because are still having to make dvd games for 360, the games are simply ported to blu-ray instead of being built from the ground up.
