GS, I have strayed....

I haven't been on here much, except to keep up with PS3 news. Met some college football players, went to the BCS title game, had my laptop stolen out of my car (broad daylight, 3 PM, at the gym, 4 cars from the front door!).

Started a facebook account (I'm sooo 5 years ago!), not that it is much more updated, lol. I'll have to figure if there's a way to cross post. Graduate in May, take the Bar Exam in July, getting married in August here: http://www.paradisuspalmareal.travel/

Playing COD4 online a lot, with some GH3 on the side (I've even gotten my fiance' hooked on GH3). I'll try to make a more interesting post later!

New games

I bought Oblivion and rented FEAR.  The Best Buy we were at didn't have R:FOM :(  Played Ridge Racer, Sonic, and Madden at my buddy's house on the beach until about 3 AM.  Then exhaustion took over.

They randomly adopted a pureblood greyhound with a bad leg from a dog farm.  Cute dog, I'll post pictures when he sends me some.  3 months old!

PS3 is back, BABY!!!

Finals are DONE

Well, 2 years of law school DONE.  Sadly I have to work tommorrow, but come tommorrow night, FEAR and Oblivion action.  My buddy is bringing over Sonic (he claims it doesn't suck).

I have a take-home essay due Saturdy, but no big deal.  Will be on here more again :)

Finals have started....

Texas Land Use and Finance down.  150 multiple choice.  Urrghh.  Fiance' is at practice, may as well go get a burr!  One week from now, I will be here glued to Oblivion and FEAR :)  2 more finals to go.

Luncheon Tuesday :)  (fiance' is on the right, my new favorite rookie on the left - polynesian!)

I miss my PS3!!!

It's been a while since I've let myself playi it.  After law school, I will never take having my evenings and weekends free ever again!  And no, I WILL NOT work at a firm who expects 14 hour days and weekends.  I'll start my own practice if need be.

But since I started a job last week, and I have a final a week from Wednesday, I REALLY have no free time.  Hell, even my sacred nap time has gone out the window.  I'll probably buy Oblivion and FEAR after finals...  Hey, I may be poor, but I still have gift cards left over from my credit card points (the source of my PS3 funds!).

Movie Sequels - Have I been in a cave?

I went to Blockbuster, rented Children of Men and Black Xmas.  Despite me loving cheesy scary movie, Black Xmas STUNK.  They had a wall of "see the movies before the sequel is released."

On the wall:  all the Aliens, all the Predators, and AVP.  Resident Evil 1 and 2.  Fantastic 4.  There was a 4th series I wanted to Google, but I forgetwhat movie it was.  Anyway, I was pumped to see the following 3 movies in production!!!

Resident Evil:  Extinction

AVP 2

Fantasic Four 2:  Rise of the Silver Surfer (will we see Galactus?)

Oblivion got returned...

So I needed to put something in my blog.  Well, nothing very exciting when you're getting ready for law school finals.  AND just took a job because you're broke - which, BTW, sucks.  Still have medical bills left over from my shoulder surgery.

The Mrs. is getting ready for cheerleader try outs (2 weeks from today, cross your fingers!).  Yes, they ALL have to try out EVERY year.  Texans have open try outs, so they usually start with about 1,200 people.

As for this site, I am using it to avoid reading about real estate law.  Thanks to fastesttruck http://www.gamespot.com/users/fastesttruck I'm all over the great emlbem hunt, lol.  About to hit level 10, I will upload the video of me proposing, for all your doubters :-P

Not sure when the URL HTML button is greyed out....??

My Life With Oblivion, Volume I, Issue 4

Well, last night's gaming was good, I guess.  School was a bioooootch.  Nothing like spending half a day filing a trademark for a client, onl to have the site to crash when you click on the payment button.  And to call the federal gov't to hear "our payment system is down" and "sorry, you'll have to refile the entire thing."

Not much to report.  The map system gets easier.  Once you find a place on the map, you can travel there just by clicking on it.  Still trying to master combat.  While I dispatched the whores with no help, I got whooped by the husband who ran off to a fort to join a band of theives.  Over, and over, and over.  Finally I left that dungeon.

As best I can tell, a "cure disease" potion is the only way to do just that.  And wow, the're expensive!  Even with some successful haggling.  As for the torch, you merely need to equip it and wa-la, it was lit!  Not sure if it was luck because I was near a fire, or if torches always auto-light.  Makes trapsing around dungeons a lot easier, though.

Watching Eragon, may go buy a 6 pack.  Fiance' is still skiing in Canada and busy day tomorrow.  OSU plays and the school "spring fling" party is tomorrow night.  "80's prom" theme.  So more Oblivion tonight :)  And yes, I still claim I am engaged to an NFL cheerleader who puts up with all this.

As for leveling, I haven't found the best way to level.  The skill points you gain when you level (seemingly from +1 to +5) depend on what skills you leveled up.  For instance, (I THINK) if you leveled up 5 skills that fall under endurance, endurance will gain +5 if chosen.  Sadly, I keep getting atheletics (from running!) at +5 and acrobatics (from who knows what).  TRYING to fight more to level up some other skills (by using blade, armor, repair...).  If I am going to learn any magic, I need to get my intelligence up.

My Life With Oblivion, Volume I, Issue 3

The fiance' is skiing in Canada (all expenses Texans' paid, mind you!), and my bottle of Tuaca is full.  A buddy stopped by to pick up some Shell Houston Open (golf) tickets, and I beat him in Madden with 9 seconds left.  How sweet it is.  Back to oblivion.  Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we....go to school :(

All right, got some quests going.  Here are some, well, low points :(

There's a crooked guard, and I am told to go ask so and so about the situation.  Apparently the good citizens are being fined into bankruptcy.  Guess what?  He's in the castle, I ASSUME in his room, which is locked.  Village soldiers don't take kindly to you snooping about their quarters.  I both died and was arrested, before I moved on to another quest.

Fighter's Guild.  Someone is breaking into a shop at night.  So I hid in the corner and lay in wait.  And die twice.  Third time I kill one and run out into the street.  I highly reccomend this strategy!  There are sailors sparring each other, and they killed the remaining tho theifs (though I got the credit!).  Thank you helpful NPC's!

Ahh, why not.  Despite my fighter, I shall join the Mages Guild.  I go in to chat, and OH SH*T.  Instead of clicking on the lady behind the desk, I stole a bottle.  She wasn't too happy.  I dropped it as fast as I could and left.  Crap, she had already called the 5-0 and I was ahead of the auto-save.  So, I paid my fine.  And, CRAP time 2!  There's a bunch of the Fighters Guild as I get out of jail.  So much for my clean record.  Paying my fine, however, did clean my record.  Mage's Guild, joined.

Weirdest quest so far?  The crazy bat who keeps rats in her basement, and the nieghbor who is causing mountain lions to creep into the basement and eat them.  if I was a more experienced Oblivion player, I would have killed all her rats :)  And if she got upset, maybe even her...?

Well, off to find thw whores, they said meet them around 11 PM.  I hope they don't kill me, that wouldn't do at all!!!

Note to self:  seriously figure out how to heal diseases, I keep having to drop items!!!

My Life With Oblivion, Volume I, Issue 2

All right, surely there's more to this game besides wondering around lost with no idea what I am doing or where I am going, after all, everyone on here loves it, right?!?!  Hmmm, what to do?  Join a Guild.  Fighter's Guild.  Coolio.  Crapola.  After 15 minutes of trapsing through the city I find it, and they tell me to go to another city to join.

Time out.  Map studying.  Found all the major cities (the map needs a zoom in/zoom out feature!), as well as various points I have picked up wondering through the countryside or from chatting.

*Advice*  TALK TO EVERYONE.  It is annoying some times, but you never know what random people will give you quests.

I did manage to join the Fighter's Guild and work on some quests I picked up from here and there.  Let the spoilers begin!!

Nirnroot - I didn't realize (I read online after-the-fact) that there are only 3 Nirnroots at the lake that the FOURTH alchemist pointed me towards.  Yes, here's the annoying side of quests.  Talk to person A and get the quest.  They send you to person B.  Who sends you to C, and finally D sets you out on the quest.  A waste of time if you ask me!  I did accidentally stumble across a camp sight, some wind warrior or something.  He was pissed, so now he's dead.

Nirnroot hunting is boring, hmmm, what is this?  A Goblin cave?  Surely I need to go kill some Goblins!  Well, Goblins are a little harder to kill than rats.  Especially when you don'ty know how to light a torch.  Note to self:  find online how to light a torch.  I beat down a few, even got some magic Goblin staff.  Crap, poisoned by rats.  Note to self:  find online how to cure diseases and poison.  Deeper and deepr into the Goblin cave I go, until, oops.  Some how they got behind me, and in trying to flee the cave due to a lack of health I died.  Sad times.  Thank God for auto-save!  This time I made it out of the cave.

Hmmm, it's a little late and dinner is ready.  Still no idea what I am really doing, aside from looking for Nirnroot.
