As I find every gamer's experience seems to be drastically different, I have decided to post my experience with the game, the highlights, and the lowlights.
I rented it from Blockbuster, and had to pay $8, damnit! I have Blockbuster online, which I realized, too late, has gone back to the online coupon being good for video game rentals. I cried when you could no longer rent video games with your e-coupon. I got home, and BAM! Studied for law school. The next day, after school, BAM! Thirty minutes reading the FAQ character creation guide. After that, I decided on the character that suited me best. Hmmm, Orc or Dark Elf? Though a Dark Elf Vampire with strong magic would be cool, I just like to bash stuff.
So I pick an Orc, sign of the Warrior, and make a modified "tank" character with my skills. I hope I like him, because I failed to save before opening the gate to leave the dungeon. An Orc named "Reaper. A younger, greener Orc.
I set off into the world, with no idea where I am going, what I am doing, or even how to work the map. In fact, I spent about 10 minutes walking around Imperial City before I figured out where the Market District was. And once I got there? Useless. BUT, low and behold, there's a zoomed up map, and some times it even marks people you're looking for in your active quest.
I actually didn't accomplish squat in my first sitting, other than killing a few rats outside the city. Save.
