Imperium

Today im blogging about a little known game called imperium. In a couple of days (three i believe), the round will be resetting and the kingdoms will have to be reformed. I'm telling you guys about this because i think you would get a kick out of the medieval strategy game that it is. Go to nevertales.com, make an account, and play to you hearts content. If you want to message me ingame, my name will be Dryonis and my county will be Dresung.

First beat game this year

Well, just about two days ago i finished the main quest of oblivion. I must say the knights of the nine equipment was very helpful down the stretch at the end. Unfortunatly i hit one of my allies during the end and lost the ability to wear it and use all those extra blessings. Overall, the story was fantastic and I will probably be spending quite a bit of time on the Shivering Isles. In other news, i read that artilce written for The Times and realized that there must be a fair amount of people that dont actually use thier heads in this world. Honestly, calling videogames "crack cocaine for the mind" is like calling Harry Potter "the devil's children's novel"...o wait, someone already has....

Crysis=Holy Crud

As i posted earlier, i got a new pc lately. The graphics card is ok (planning on buying on soon), but good enough to play the newest games. After about an hour of downloading and installing, i got to start up the Crysis demo. My impressions? Amazing. Even on low quality the game looks amazing. If this is the now in gaming, i cant wait to see whats coming next. ACTUAL virtual reality seems to be the only next step i can think of. Anyway, back to my impressions. The whole open world concept is pretty well-executed, especially with the setting they picked. I can't think of any thing that would restrict you on an island other than the obvious ocean. But boy that game is hard. I died like 4 times on easy difficulty because of stupid decisions. Theres pretty much no running in guns blazing in that game. Overall, I think I'm going to get that new video card and then run somewhere, anywhere, to get crysis. Until, next time, this sentence concludes another Yodax007 blogpost.

Happy Holidays

Hello gamespotters. I'm typing this blog from a new gateway GT5644E.AMD Athalon 64 X2 Processor, 3 GB ram, NVidia GeForce 8300, Direct X 10, Vista... Im already lovin this thing. Downloading the Witcher Demo as we speak. Should be fun to crack out Oblivon tomorrow on this thing and see how it goes.

P.S. If any of you guys are into comics, i STRONGLY suggest going out and getting the latest issue of Green Lantern. The conclusion to the Sinestro War is EPIC

Just a little tale I came up with

Hope you like it. Comments from you guys would be appreciated. Thanks.

Long ago, before the Trilemian Empire secured a foothold in the realm of Dresung, the great King Almoneer ruled the land with an iron fist. Conquering the beasts of the land, Almoneer was worshiped by his subjects. Pioneering many achievements both in military and economically, he had brought the kingdom to a spiritual high. It seemed that he could do no wrong at all. However, as popular as he was, there was one thing he could not overcome. The following is the story of how this horrible flaw came to be.

You see, the king had earned his position through military conquest. At the Battle of Aldenvate, Almoneer (then a captain) lead one of the best legion of troops to force back a rogue nation of elves. However, not all local creatures were as primitive as they might have seen. As the men trudged on to the outpost, a tribe of trolls observed the mass movement. Knowing the elves would be willing to trade for the crucial knowledge, a messenger was sent to the nearest camp. The Elvish leader at the time, Ke'hamin, called for thousands of his people to unite and drive back the intruders. They gathered outside the frontier town and waited.

When Almoneer's army arrived, they found themselves greatly outnumbered. As bleak as the carnage looked, the general turned to his men.

"Men of the order!" he shouted, "today you ponder the worth of glory! I see amongst you the fiber of our soul, the essence of our hearts. Your eyes stare across this encroaching chaos, hands growing feeble, courage growing weak. As you reconsider your allegiance, let me ask you this. Who shall be sacrificed from your desertion? The people of your country, cut down by the scourge of living things. The strength to overcome this foe lies in you, my friend. So stand with me, unsheathe your sword, and defend all that is righteous in this world. Stand with me, and your spirit shall live forever among the tales of heros. Stand with me, and let us overcome these demons of the Earth!"

Inspired and invigorated by the great leader, the men fought like possessed by the devil himself. A crimson ocean spread itself across the gound, and blades cut through meat like an arrow through cloth. The elves were beat down, and Ke'hamin and Almoneer met on the field.

"Hellspawn, the time of your reckoning has come!" shouted the captain, " I shall use your head as a warning, for the creatures of brimstone will flee from the horror that is your hideous face!'

"Human scum," replied the warrior," your tounge shall be my trophy, for it is the only thing you posses that is of any worth."

The duel between the great heros lasted for days. On the third, the armor of the general gave, and he fought his enemy with bare skin. On the eighth, the captain's mace broke the forearm of Ke'hamin, leaving only his offhand to fight with. Finally, on the twelfth day, the battle was coming to a close. Almoneer had endured many wounds, and the same went for the Elf King. Suddenly, the captain tripped, leaving him open and vunerable. Swinging his blade with the strength of a thousand men, Ke'hamin's edge ripped across Almoneer's face, leaving a ferocious wound that would scar him forever. The elf laughed.

"Now you see human, your beloved people shall come next, with you at the head of my flag!" shouted the beast.

Great fury sprang up in the man. His willpower grew as strong as the flow of an avalanche, his blood heated to the point of boil.

"No demon from the hills of the wild will be able to conquer our land, for the glory of our kingdom shines brighter than the light of dawn!"

Blow after blow, Almoneer hammered the Elf King. Smashing him to the point of oblivion was all that mattered to the man now. As the crushing swings rang across the continent, all became silent. It was then known that the Humans had won, and that Aldenvate and its people were saved.

It was this wound Ke'hamin bore Almoneer that haunted him to his death. With no wife to bear a son, the heir of his kingdom was undecided. Several had become the supposed true heir, and none was obvious. The first was Crendin Dwaine, the nephew of the king. He had grown up in the castle with his uncle, and had been favored by the king. He had been trained in the ways of war and led his country to many victories. The second was Matthew Blewkal. The squire of the kings brother, he had grown up with Crendin. Friends for many years, their strategic cunning was unparalleled through all of Azeroth. However, when the king died, they disagreed on many things, most prevalent the management of the country. Turned at each other, they fostered a violent rivalry.

It was this impending war that turned the tides of the land forever. The ripples caused by the outcome of the conflict that would tear and fray the fabric of the country and its people. Villages would burn, lands would be ravaged, and the people of the world would suffer through it all. However, today is not the day for the tale that was to come. The history of the land of Dresung will have to be completed another time.

Turkey Day

Well guess what fellas, its time for my once every 6 weeks blog post. Its turkey day, and im in Ohio at my grandparents house. My cousins and I only do about one thing here, and thats play games. Constantly. Its freaking paradise. In fact, the two reasons i actually got into gaming were my cousin's N64 and my other cousins Gameboy Color. I was like five at the time and i had absolutly no idea how to play pokemon, so i just put the one with the golf clubtail in. Turned out to be a level 4 ratattat or whatever.

I saw an X-play special on Mass Effect, and i must say i have never wanted a 360 more than now. That game looks like the Chrono Trigger of the current generation. With the innovative speech system the story telling will be unparalelled. To bad they didnt pull another X-box PC game like KOTOR. But with Dragon Age on the horizon for Bioware, things are looking good for the RPG world. If only they would remake C.T., then i would be good until about 2072.

After about 6 years, we are finally getting a new computer. The one that we have now doesnt even play Battlefield 2. First game im shovin into that machine will most likely be either Oblivion or Call of Duty 4, which look flippin amazing. Iv'e been dying to play TES4 ever since they announced it,and then shrunk in dissapointment when i found out that my video card doesn't even have a pixel shader (yeah, i gasped too). Thats all the gaming related news i have today, so i say zaijian for another two months.

Freshman

today was my first day of high school. fun fun. two pretty good things about this day. catching up with friends you havent seen in awhile and another having alot more to do with adolecent hormones ;). ive finally realized how boring classes can be after sitting through probably the most dull presentation by a social studies teacher i have ever seen. lunch is good, except for the fact that i ended up with a lunch period starting at 10:23. Also, considering that our school has over 1000 students, youd think there would be more than 20 freshman in one lunchtime. However, i must say that the most interesting part of my day was chinese class. Earlier in the summer, i saw that the name for the instructer on my schedule was ziegler. That led me to think that i would have a realitivly nice time in that class, actually able to understand the chinese that i heard. That is not the case. Turns out that our teacher is actually from near hong kong, ziegler is just her american name. By itsself, that would not be that bad, but combined with the fact that she speaks so fast you cant even tell what it sounds like and that she cant speak or understand english that well makes it bad. I think ive been talking too much. well thats just about it, so now i sign off.

Does anyone remember the old man?

Ive noticed a disturbing trend. Old characters that were probably well known in thier times are being washed away by the lack of sequels to fantastic games. One example is theman from the end of time in chrono trigger. This guy's image is very memorable, standing right in front of a lamppost, holding his cane. You come across him many times in the story. However, nowadays, noone knows who he is because these great epics are not availible due to the lack of a super nintendo market.

Another is Goemon the mystical ninja. Yeah, he now has a game on the virtual console, but how many people are gonna know who the heck he is? i remember going to blockbuster to rent the N64 games he had all the time, because i loved them. he also had a bunch of sidekicks, and i dont remember thier names, which sort of proves my point. Its a real bummer, cause if this continues, in a couple of years, no one is going to remember who pit is.

Fantasy Baseball

I'm guessing this is sort of a forgien topic on this website, but is anyone interested in getting a free league together on ESPN.com?  Fantasy Baseball is probably the most popular online game in the world, and heck, if we actually start to pay one day, you can win good stuff with a well planned team.  I'm guessing ill get about one comment for this blog, but I'm gonna try anyway.

Merry Christmas

Guess what people, I got a wii for Christmas! And the wierd thing is that my parents weren't even planning on it.  Here is how the story went:  My mom apparently went to Toys "R" Us to get Final Fantasy III for me.  While she was getting glasses, she noticed a huge line by the video game counter.  They got a Wii shipment of 25.  There were more than twenty five people, so she went down the street to eb games.  When she got there, there was no line at all.  After she got my game, she asked just for the heck of it if they had any Wii systems.  They turned out having three of them!  My mom was so suprised she apparently started wispering and had the system double bagged so she wouldnt get mugged by anyone on the way to her car.  Well that is the wierd story about how my wii got to my house.  I Also got Zelda Twilight Princess for it.  Merry Christmas!
