I decided to go all the way and get a XFX 5850 Black edition. Is that a wise choice? Taking into account that i will be upgrading to two in the future

Unless you game at 2560x1500 or higher, I won't see a need for crossfire for the next 3-4 years at least.
yea that what i was trying to say im buying a computer that will last me along time and when its time for a upgrade i will do just that. Thanks for all the help it would've sucked if i got the GTX 260 that the guy suggestedI decided to go all the way and get a XFX 5850 Black edition. Is that a wise choice? this is my first build and before i had a 5770 and some one said i would be better off getting a GTX 260 and yea around 200-220Hope we don't have a Nvidia fanboy here.
What's your budget? Around ~$220?

This is my build
-AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4ghz
-6 GB Ram
-750gb HDD
-850W PSU
-msi 790FX
i was thinking of along the lines of a MSI GTX 260 Twin Frozr and when the time comes upgrade or add another. But i dont know if thats a good card, there is also a ASUS GTX 260 for around the same price and also a XFX 260. I know there's other cheaper and maybe even better cards out there but how would i know, i dont even know what to choose.:?
Oh god no. Don't go crossfire with just a 19' monitor. Either get a HD 5770 or HD 5850 instead (even then, the HD 5850 is overkill).Luminouslightso what should i do get a 22-23" like this one monitor or new GPU such as This. Also whats wrong with the 5830
DVD drive-25.99
Case-69.99
Monitor-119.99
MOBO-119.99
Printer-31.99
2 x GPU-499.98(249.99 each)
PSU-79.99
RAM-104.99
CPU-209.99
OS-104.99
Total comes out to be $1,410 USD
Does all the parts i have picked out work together or should i consider something
You MUST be joking.[QUOTE="YourNextStalker"]with a $1200 budget, a build like that couldnt play metro 2033 in high settingskilerchese
Thats the only thing you could be doing!
The OPTIMAL system requirements?
Core i7 CPU($200+)
DirectX 11 Compatible video card, preferably GTX 470($300-$500) or GTX 480($400-$600)
and I quote "As much RAM as possible(8GB+)" 8GB of ram? $250+
Fast HDD or SSD.
Thats right, I believe this is the first game that has recommended an SSD for the hard drive optimal experience.
Just from those BASIC numbers, thats $800 for just FOUR of the required basic EIGHT components of a computer, not including the monitor which will cost another $150+ for a good one.
That leaves you with about $200 for a PSU, there goes another $100, motherboard for current i7 CPUs are about $150-$200. There goes the rest of your money.
Now your over your budget and you still don't have a case or an optical drive.
Your not going to be able to play this game on high with a budget of a measly $1,200.
I didnt know what optimal meant sorry this is my first build and i didnt know that Metro 2033 had such high standards. lets start over how about $1200 build with monitor and Printer, that can play ArmA 2 at good settings
with a $1200 budget, a build like that couldnt play metro 2033 in high settingsYour budget doesn't make it feasible to build a computer that will play Metro 2033, using the optimal system specifications of course.
Your going to have to settle for something less with a budget like that.
