if he created the universe, he most certainly does.

Silver_Dragon17

No, He doesn't. The children make the children the way the children are, not God.

if god set all matter and energy in motion in existance, and god knows all the laws governing the actions of all that matter and energy, then god will know the future positions and interactions of ALL that matter and energy for all time, including the matter and energy in your body which causes you to decide to kill. so god created the matter and energy in the universe that ended up in your body 15billion ( 6000 ) years later knowing that in the future, it would cause you to decide to kill.

/There is no matter and energy in your body that makes you decide to kill.:| God makes the person, but the person makes himself the way he will be.

uh.. our decisions come from that blob of goo between our ears. last time i checked thats what its made out of.

Explain the processes of decision-making, specifically the one that 'makes' us decide to kill.

Nothing "makes" people decide to kill, it's a decision that people make themselves (note: I said people make the decsion not God) just like the decision people make to form pointless arguments.

How about we get our facts straight boys and girls. God doesn't make people do the things they do, people make their own decisions for themselves. God isn't making people post some of the most ignorant comments since the dawn of time on this topic, their stupidity is.

2. Christianity isn't a religion.;)

Silver_Dragon17

Having caught up with this thread, I feel that it was at this point where the deabte turned pretty ridiculous.

*yaun*

Don't care.

Well, I'm not being funny, but Christianity fits every proper definition of "religion" there ever was, and if you disagree, you are nothing but delirious.

I'd stop living in a dream world if I were you.

Really? I agree. But Christianity has a few more things about it that seperates it from religion. You disagree? Whatever. But it's not me who's living in a dream world.;)

So then, would you care to name a few of those things that seperate Christianity from religion? Really, cause I'd love to hear what you can come up with since there isn't actually a set definition for the word religion so any argument attesting that there is a set definition and furthermore that Christianity doesn't fit in with that definition is pointless, inane and overall generally asinine.

Diz360:

Did you ever stop to think for a second that not everything can be rationalized?! Just because something is irational doesn't by any means imply that it is false. There are a number of scientific facts that supports this case.

Also, the fact of the matter is that your statement and as well as many of the other statments that have been posted for this topic about all religions being irrational is basically a load of b$! Why? Because humans define irrationality as anything that is not "rational", or cannot be explained through logic, logic which is based on fact, fact which becomes a given truth when people start to believe in it.

The only reason that anything in life is true is because people believe it is. If people cease to believe in it anymore, then all of a sudden people change their minds and decide that it's false and go with something else. All logic is based on speculation and theory! For God knows how many years, peope believed that the Earth was the center of the universe. This was up until "evidence" came to light that proved that fact to be false and all of a sudden, people went from believeing Earth was the center of the universe to believing that the sun is.

If this logic were applied to oh, say, christianity vs. evolution, let's pretend that one day the entire world became aetheist because some found "evidence" that God didn't exist. Suppose the very next day that someone else found even more extensive evidence that he does! Fact can be oveturned just that quickly and it happens everyday which is why there's no such thing as an actual fact. So anyone who attempts to use logic to disprove christianity has an argument that is inherently flawed within itself.

Furthermore, for those who may try to use this information to say that religion in the minds of those who believe it is a fact so it is also prone to fallacy, religion is a given, not a fact. The world didn't just create itself itself and I didn't come from any D@^^N monkey!

Would you rather:

Throw up after everytime you eat something or live for on the brink of starvation but never die?

Never have sex again or only have it with one of your grandparents?

Have pubic hair that grows all over your body like a vine or that lights up and blinks like a christmas tree?

Re-live the same day over and over or forever or die in 24 hours but have enough money and power to do whatever you want in the next 24 hours?

And finally: Have a horriffic and gruesome nightmare whenever you sleep that feels real or live your entire life without sleeping?

Because the only way to do so is to literally throw yourself out and that's not really something to look forward to every morning. Concussions aren't fun. :?

Until the price on the ps3 is lowered obviously, but also until the ps3 gains some confidence among the gamers since right now, most ps2 owners aren't really concerned about the transfer over to next-gen simply because the ps2 is still coming out with decent and hard-hitting games and is still impressing with it's titles.
