@Defender1978 That's an urban legend. The reason you don't see console gaming in China is because China is the piracy capital of the whole world. It's impossible to make money there if you're not on a pay-to-win model.
@weetbix23 @CommonSense702 @udmatador This is EXACTLY the issue. Let's say you bought Aliens: Colonial Marines and couldn't get rid of it. Would you be willing to take risks again? I highly doubt it.
@Feedbackula Mario and Zelda games are a mixed bag.
On the one hand, they've pretty much reached who they're going to reach and will change exactly zero minds about Nintendo, especially with how conservative they are with those franchises.
On the other hand, new entries in beloved series will likely get fans to finally get off their duff and buy the console. Now whether third parties provide games for the system or continue to discredit the Wii U is a mystery. Nintendo needs to bring new content to the system to dispel the "mascot machine" label it has, but it needs those mascots in the short term to get some hardware out the door.
@SangoHime Well, cloud gaming isn't overtaking anything until the lag issue is addressed. Gamers aren't going to put up with laggy matches, and non-gamers probably will be intimidated.
Game consoles aren't going anywhere for the forseeable future, and discs will be around as well for a good long time.
