My personal fave is Xenosaga Ep 1, I might get blasted for that for I love it.

Also you can't go wrong with loading up on any Final Fantasy you can find.

I feel I'm in a similar boat as the OP. When i was younger RPGs were the back bone of my video game playing, I ate up every final fantasy, suikoden and ps1 era rpg i could. But now i've become more "action game" guy preferring to put alot of time into competitive online stuff in stead of going the rpg root. I was thinking now that were in the summer rut i may pick up lost odyssey or eternal sonata and try that out. jedimaster815

You should pick up Eternal Sonata. It's not the longest RPG around but the characters are interesting and the story line isn't too bad.
