What can I say without it being awkward "Hey... so wanna go out?"

So theres this guy that works in an anime/game store,

I'm attracted to him but I don't know how to ask him out He seems shy and so am I, whenever i go there he follows me around the store and we'll talk about games etcand healways smiles and holds eye contact. Do guys like it if a girl asks a guy out?
