Finsihed Assassins Creed 2: Impression

This will be a jumbled mess so forgive me if I leap from one place to another without the sentencing being well processed because theres so much jumping around in my head after playing this that it leaves me lost in translation giving a impression without spoiling anything important.

So I finished it finally, took about 18 hours for the main plot and I still have quite a bit of side quests, feathers and upgrades left to acquire but overall the game was a awesome journey from start to finish. Speaking about the finish for a minute, it's a twister because if you thought the first game ended strangely this one leaves you with a serious "what the f#ck" spinning around in your head (I Can't Wait Though For AC3). I also feel really bad for Ezio, you'll understand why I feel very sorry for him when you beat the game and if you don't feel sorry for him after all the effort he went through then your a heartless prick.

Now is it better then the first assassins creed? Yes.

This game feels above and beyond the original assassins creed, sure theres still some repetitive natured things in the game but its no more different now then any other game where certain things become repetitive over the coarse of playing a game, theres so much more variety in missions now that your definitely not going to get bored and more then likely you'll easily be able to play this game through a few times without it driving you to the brink of insanity.

Now something thats been talked about is the economics system in the game, its very minimalistic in nature, its not as robust as they've told you it would be but that doesn't mean to stay it isn't a very welcomed addition because it changes (or adds a layer to things) things in a way that makes you feel quite rewarded for doing things in the world. In the original you felt you didn't really get anything from your efforts in the game but in this one you get so much over the coarse of the game for your efforts its really welcoming and the fact you get to choose your rewards makes it all the better in the end. Now many people want to know about dying Ezio's robes and well unfortunately its doesn't allow you to pick any color you want but does give you a number (4) of pre-select choices in each major area as well as the choice to go back to the standard white for free, the choices in the game are very nice but most I think at the end of the game are going to choose the badass looking red & black dye.

The weapons and armor upgrades in the game are welcoming as well, there are many daggers in this game so its basically outside of your hidden blade meant to be your main choice in the mix (I used one most the time that looks like a butchers cleaver), thats not to say the blunt weapons in the game aren't great (mainly maces) because they are wicked fun and some of the execution by these will leave you with a little evil grin on your face because you knowbefore that guy died h felt your attack. So the armors have a nice feel to them, adding to the visual styling of your Ezio and adding health an damage reduction to him and while originally I thought these upgrades would slow him down they didn't seem to effect him in any way possible, this guys a freestyle terminator :D

The gameplay this time around is much more fluid as well and because of it you feel like your doing things faster then in the original when your not really but some things Ezio can do quicker then Altair like climbing, Ezio is much more nimble then Altair and its apparent right from the start of the game who's the better ninja master :P

Now this begs the question of who would win in a fight?

At the end of the game I would say both Ezio or Desmond could wipe the floor with Altair but at the beginning Altair could take on both of them at the same time with little effort.

Now visuals, your definitely going to notice a some screen tearing in this game if your running through HDMI at 720p but other then that you'll barely notice any frame dips (they happen but not shattering bad). I just watched the lens of truth comparison between the PS3 and 360 version and it leaves me wondering what kind of television those guys are using to make the comparison visuals look so different, on my samsung it looks nearly identical to the 360 version during the bright summer times of the day.

Video if you want to see the comparison by lens of truth.

Now after watching it you have to wonder if these guys are biased because those time of day parts with the exception of the night time are different times of the day (night basically all looks the same).

So anyway the game does look great on both consoles (will look fantastic when the pc version arrives), sorry for going into that I just thought it was a little funny considering I already know what this game looks like on my own television and that'll make a big difference in comparisons, quite easy to fake bad quality by changing televisions and internal settings.

Anyway if you have questions, just post something and I'll answer it.

Bayonetta!

If you haven't played the demo yet go and download it because that is how a next-gen devil may cry should play, smooth, fun and bloody stylistic to the highs, I haven't played a demo in a while since pax that has left me with a smile on my face after playing it, if bayonetta improves from that I'll definitely get it day one without question.

Taking a Break

I've got a heck load of work coming up soon, i'm not going to be around as much, you've probably already noticed it but thats what happens when crunch time comes around.

Don't worry I'll Be Back mwahahaha

PsP KIA!

So my psp god rest its ceramic soul is down for the count, killing in action playing resistance retribution :(

I really hate when expensive products die but hey that's life...

I have phantasy star portable and resistance retribution an now can't play either of them AHHHHHH!

Resident Evil 5: The End of the Beginning or Just the End?

Note: I won't put plot spoilers in here, even enemies will be left out because some will bring a heart felt smile back to your face :D

The experience was very enjoyable, specially after the half-way point where it kicks into being just an absolute blast to play, incredibly awesome singleplayer/co-op experience!

I would say compared to most resident evil games that the story in this one isn't the best but its surely not the worst either. You'll be left with a feeling of wanting more as some things are left very under developed, if you can consider resident evil 5 anything its that its the end of a story arc in the series and when capcom says that the next game in the long running series will be a new chapter in the universe they pretty much aren't kidding because they will have the freedom to work from the ground up on gameplay and story with resident evil 6.

I can say without a doubt sheva is a stupid character in the gameplay and plot department, don't bother giving her anything but pistols, sub-machine guns or the bowgun, this is one trigger happy biatch!

So during the game I avoided giving her...

Magums, Rifles, Assaults Rifles, Shotguns, Explosives, Etc

As a gamer you don't want to give her anything that you find highly useful and has very limited ammo supplies because she chews through anything you give her without concern for supply or situation, use her effectively as a pack-maul and a backup shooter, never rely on her as your useful tool because she will get you killed more then times then anything else, yes when she dies, you die!

When it comes to co-op with a friend make sure to play on each others strengths, don't worry about your weakness just abuse each of your strengths to death, if someone is better with range give them it, if they are better with handguns let them have the majority of the ammo, if you can throw explosives better then hog them.

Never be friendly online unless you know the person because they aren't going to give two-ticks about your own situation, they'll try an act like rockstars, sadly if they die your up the creek because they'll constantly keep getting you killed, these newer players online are terrible, little winny children that just think about me, myself and I, play with people you know because it makes the experience much better, I didn't have the luxury because of circumstances.

I got lucky in that I managed to play one whole co-op game with a reviewer who will only be known as "the g-man", he was awesome fun to play with and surprisingly enough was british, so me playing chris and him playing sheva was pretty funny, specially the conversations.

Do know I've played this four times already (so I've unlocked everything already), yes I've had it far longer then all those other randoms that picked it up in the last day or so, I got it about a week and an a half-ago as a "special care package" (Its not a retail disk, but none the less the full game).

Back to the Game...

People that complain about the controls, if you find the start of this game hard then your going to scream bloody murder later in the game when you really need faster reflexes then the game can give you, this is probably on purpose knowing capcom because if we had perfect controls that were made for these situations then we would chew through these guys like nothing, at least some of them (some of them can take a beating know only to most mini-bosses and some of these are considered regular enemies later).

Merc's is back but your only going to get the main characters to play and when I mean main characters its only four of them, although you will get to play them in different outfits and those are very limited as well :( Compared to resident evil 4 though its bucket loads harder with the new enemy combinations and enemies themselves. So limited in one respect but it still retains that very element that made it great and improved it with gameplay.

Speaking on unlockables they themselves are limited, after you beat the game you don't get much outsides merc's, outfits and some new weapons. Theres no side missions or the like in comparison to the last game, they've skipped out on many of those things which I would say will come with the dlc and I'm fully expecting lots of dlc for this game.

Its really hard to say anything more outside this dribble because you basically have to go into the plot from here which leads me down a path I commonly try to avoid when writing these things, I will say this though that its going to be very interesting how they proceed forward from this game to the next because it could either spell total renewal of the series or absolute utter total devastation to it with no way back.

Lost Planet 2: Bringing Back the Thermal Goodness!

Now I was saving this post for when I reached level30 but stuff that something I loved to death was got annouced, lost planet 2!

I remember the first game was awesome fun in multiplayer and while it kinda lacked in singleplayer it was none the less a very good experience for one of the first year games on the system (I'm pretty sure it was still the first year when it was released in the timeline), I wasted hours on that thing and now to have a sequel that not only brings back that great experience but improves it with co-op, bug hunts and more awesome thermal goodness...

I couldn't be a happier man today, now they just need to annouce megaman legends 3 and they'll have made my year :D

Bl0G 100...(Seriously)

So I did miss some stuff while away, prince of persia and white knight chronicles, how I missed both these when they were both released before I left is beyond me, more so white knight chronciles considering I had the game pre-ordered on play-asia.

Anyway...

Already finished prince of persia and I must say i'm getting very sick of to-be-continued trilogy games lately, for once I'd just like a good game that gives me the story in one sitting, it's probably why I love jrpgs so much because at least they still stick to good ole fashion trends.

Honestly through the game didn't need it, would have been far better then turning the story into a series rather then a single game, they didn't try to convey emotion more so then they forced emotion that didn't seem there in the main character to begin with, the prince develop a relationship with elika but never one that made me feel anything for her throughout the adventure.

Gameplay, Graphics and Art Direction are all fantastically solid beyond a doubt, the game might be on the easy side of things but it had a ton of platforming in it, although it could have had more thinking involved or as most people say make it harder, I understand the direction the developers were trying to head and they've taken a step in the right direction but they need to work on it more, its a foundation to say the least and lets hope they build a nice ole palace for the prince ontop of it.

Now...

White Knight Chronciles, I'll do something very indepth when I've completed it a hundred percent (probably write a gamefaq or something) but at the moment its a very solid game.

I stated it earlier that it was a combination with its online portion between final fantasy 11/12, monster hunter series and phantasy star online games and while these aspects are apparent in the single-player portion they are more heavily emphasized in the online portion of the game.

I do hate the fact that my characters online progress is limited by my progress through the single-player. Even after 32 hours of playing I'm still moving along slowly through the game because I have more work on my plate at the moment then I would have suspected for the new year, anyway slow and steedy you know.

I will say I've heard this game ends much in similar to-be-continued fashion as many of the games of late but it is very nice so far and I might be able to forgive this one because of its online portion which is highly addictive for a old phantasy star veteran.

Anyway I enjoy it and am having fun.

In other news...

Still building my new computer, its slowly moving along and I'm not really in a rush to finish it at the moment, I still need a few of the pieces to get it up and running and planning around a max four thousand dollar budget (NZD) doesn't help when I've already blown three and a half already, so high ho high ho and off to work I go to get more money.

I'm going to be doing a business and accountacy dipolma soon, I'm planning to eventually more into a private consultancy practice and spend far more time at home with me wife in sweden, that will take another two years of my life away but time doesn't stop for anything.

In other news i'm going to hokkaido japan this christmas so that should be good, my sister, her husband and friends are invited me to spend some time since I haven't seen them in nearly six years or more, living in different countries and everything makes seeing family (close or otherwise) very difficult but you make the choices you live with and those are mine even though I love my family very much.

Anyway I really don't know what else to say, blogs are just ideas, thoughts or junk that spout from my noggin, so till next time :P

Great Holiday!

Went to Sweden, Hug me Wife, Bought a Camera, Went Home, Setup a Computer, Computer Broken in Transport, Decided to Make Dinner, Oven Broken, Wife Bought a New Oven, Fixed Computer While She Was Out the Next Day, Went to In-Laws, Got Drunk with Father In-Law, Went Site Seeing, Lost a Camera, Went Home, Had a Few Parties with Friends, Had Some Nice Times and Come Back Home...

That was my holiday in a nutshell, it might sound strange but it was a very good holiday considering all the little things that went wrong on it :D

So how was everyone elses holidays?

Busted Hand = Screwed

My right hands down and thus I can't play any fast paced video games for awhile. I bought some insanely sharp knives yesterday that were quite literally insanely sharp, didn't realize they would be that fantastic and my hand = cut to ribbons.

So no way in heck I can play fast paced games at the moment.

Weekend = Last Remenant, no way I can play resistance 2.
