People living before vitamin supplements lived long lives too. That being said, certain supplements can be beneficial, but it is best to get all your vitamins and minerals from food because the nutrients found in different foods work with each other.

An example of this is vitamin c. They say supplement with vitamin c, but if you eat an orange you will get better absorption of the vitamin c it contains, plus the antioxidants and phytonutrients. There are even things no one knows about yet in certain foods that may benefit us even more.

A little bonus here if you are still reading. Orange juice is worse for you than oranges because in the making of orange juice, fiber is lost and so are certain nutrients. It's basically turning a healthy food into an unhealthy drink. Fiber in fruit is what makes the sugar ok to eat because fiber causes the sugar to be digested slowly instead of a quick spike like white sugar would do.

[QUOTE="Zephgaldarien"][QUOTE="black_cat19"]

[QUOTE="Zephgaldarien"]Have faith in God,...I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.black_cat19

Ask god to move a mountain for you, believe with all your heart it will happen, put all of your faith into your prayer. When I see in the news that a mountain somehow dissapeared and ended up in the sea, I'll believe you...

Certain prayers are impossible because of that verse there. I can't pray without doubt that God will kill someone for me because I know it is against his law to kill. For this reason, if I prayed to God to move a mountain, it would be testing him, which is against his law too. If I pray for a car for myself, it would not be for his glory, but for my own, which is another example. I would pray for starving kids in Africa, but I don't have faith that they will all get fed. It would be like me praying that all of the OT community will turn christian by tomorrow,

So you were speaking metaphoricaly? Ok then, so pray for something selfless, but REALLY big to happen, such as this starving kids example, I'll believe you when I see it.

And btw, it's oh so convenient for you to say, "have faith, and god will always answer a selfless prayer, this is the truth, believe me", and then go, "well I don't have much faith myself, so praying doesn't work for me, and I can't prove my point to you". :roll:

Praying for things that are selfless is just one example I had stated. If you didn't notice I stated several. If I prayed for something just to prove you wrong, it would be against God's law. I pray for simple things all the time that come true.

[QUOTE="Zephgaldarien"][QUOTE="Deity_Slapper"]

[QUOTE="Zephgaldarien"] If Heaven is real, yes I won't be said anymore and everyone who made it to Heaven will be there with me and I will be happy. Because if Heaven is real, then the Bible is true because God never lies. It's like if you were going to eat a nice cheeseburger, you bite into it with faith that it is going to taste good. How do you know it's going to taste good? What if it tastes like poop? Valid grounds aren't really valid to tell you the truth. Everything takes some amount of faith.Deity_Slapper

Everything takes some amount of faith? I don't need faith to know that if I eat beans I'm going to fart.

And where's your faith? You said "if heaven is real" twice in this post. So basically, you're admitting you don't know for sure.

You even said, "if heaven is real" in a hopeful sense, but immediately followed it with "because god never lies", an absolute statement. But if you're sure god never lies, and one of the things he promised is heaven, then why are you not completely sure heaven exists? I guess you're also not sure that god is telling the truth as well...hmm...

You just admitted you need faith by saying you don't need faith to know that if you eat beans you are going to fart.

How can you question someones faith by the context of their words? I simply say if to get a point across to you. It's like a hypothesis statment if and then. Like if you eat beans, then you will fart, according to you offcoarse because I don't fart when I eat beans. So if Heaven is real then God never lies, because if God lied it would disprove the whole Bible.

?

Dude, eating fibrous foods leads to gas. It's a fact. I don't need faith for that. It's proven itself time and time again.

And the rest of your post just highlights how little faith you actually have. Now, if you don't think any of this is real, why waste any time on it to begin with? Why make a fantasy such an integral part of your life, and who you are? Don't you have anything real, something of substance, in your life that you could draw inspiration from? Why do you putter around with non-sensical fairy tales as your fuel for living?

You contradict yourself by saying I have little faith and then saying "non-sensical fairy tales" are my fuel for living. I have so much faith, that I live on it. I am convinced there is a God and that there is a Heaven. Christians live by faith.
