@the_master_race: She's probably too sporty for the likes of Louis Vuitton.

@gkmogglemog: The irony is that Final Fantasy 9 had Coka Cola commercials and it happened prior to the merger of Square Soft and Enix.

@wookiegr: Her hair is actually canonically blonde. It's only pink in the video games. Just like Terra Bradford of Final Fantasy 6, who has canonically blonde hair but it is green in the game. I believe it was done to make her model stand out more against the environment and to other characters.

I would think Rikku and Lulu from Final Fantasy 10 would be better fashion models than Lightning. Considering Lightning still wears her old military equipment throughout the entirety of Final Fantasy 13, even during her flashbacks of her at home, I don't think she's all that fashion-conscious.

@so_hai: That's not how news articles are made. It's not like Gamespot operates on a set schedule and will always have something to write about. They release news articles as they come.

@subsided94: Not necessarily.

Each spaceship package represents one pledge. Cloud Imperium Games is continuing the Kickstarter format where you can buy packages that include the game and a small assortment of in-game tools to help you play the game during release. The packages help fund the game. Stand-alone spaceships are for players who want a head start during the release.

The developer has guaranteed that each spaceship available on the pledge store will be available in-game for free upon release. What this means is that all you truly need is to purchase the $30 starter package which includes Star Citizen, and when the release comes get to work in-game on acquiring that spaceship you desired.

Post-release, you will no longer be able to purchase any in-game content through the store. They may keep the rentable spaceship system, though.

@TeknoBug: Kind of.

Personally, I think Star Citizen has become a feature creep. I was very excited at first to play this game, but now it seems CEO Chris Roberts cares more about making flashy cutscenes and airplanes-in-space than creating a space simulator that can be taken seriously. Most of the game content he's working on are the movie portions of Squadron 42 (the single-player, offline version of Star Citizen) and the spaceships. The playerbase does not know much about non-combat content for Star Citizen.

@so_hai: It depends on the work ethic of the developer. It certainly seems american video game developers tend to lean on the cheap side, taking advantage of patches DLC and the like, while japanese developers tend to go the extra mile to snip the proverbial umbilical cord and release a good game that will last. Though even companies like Nintendo are getting into the whole DLC craze, realizing the amount of cash the americans are raking in from little to no extra work and arbitrary pay walls.
