This article makes me very sad. Big companies have all these human resources at their disposal, and they choose to continue to make mediocre games. No one's bold enough to step out and break new ground, or (excepting a few) bring us new IP.
"If they keep that in an MMO, then there’s no reason why it shouldn’t do reasonably well, I don't think."
The tone of this just sounds like they think they could make some money building an MMO off their pre-existing world and lore. The mentality going into a game shouldn't be that it could "do reasonable well", it should be "this game has the potential to be amazing".
@Renunciation @augmira @XWolfcampopper As a Christian, I don't like it when my belief system isn't portrayed correctly and as it really is. I don't know what the themes would have been in this game before, so I may have been offended, but having heard that the writing direction for this character has changed, I feel lighter towards it. I'll just assume the character will be some crazy extremist anyway, so offense won't be taken.
The first game I played that I can recall gave me choices such as these (beyond 'to kill the Goomba or not') was Driver. I'm guilty of enjoying going the speed limit more than recklessly driving around the city.
I managed to get the multiplayer mod for TL1 working with some friends of mine, and it was an absolute blast! Can't wait to get into this game actually designed with multiplayer.
